err, this hack would keep track of clubs and members, not to mention information threads

a user would click "join" on this page and they would automatically be subscibed to all threads in the specified club forum.

the page club.php would show the club name, club description, links to the club threads and the club members.

i nice extention would be if i would show they're a member via the post bit but that's not really a must.

i think so, it could easily be extended to cover events, meets, and maybe when i learn to code, it will set up it's own forum that doesn't appear on the forum home or acp and the group leader can moderate it. but right now, i'm just going for the simplest option :)

anybody made this yet? seems like an interesting idea and i could definetily use it

i plan on making a version myself, altho i'm working on something else first, given the size of this hack also, i'm quite restricted in how much development i can do till i learn vB3 , should have something in place soon though :)

the plan is to make it for vB3 but at the rate jelsoft is going about finalising the code, i'll probably end up making it for vB2 first and then porting it over.

What about for Gamma? I thought they said hacks for gamma were ok right?

no, they said no hacks till RC1

make it for vB2, cause thats what everyone is using anyways till vB3 goes RC1... which may not be for another month or so...

See I came over from phpbb a few months back and didnt know about the no-hacks-for-vb3 until after I converted.. dag nabit ;-)

This would be a great hack though and I would be willing to see that it is completed.

this is the hack that i want to make for groups, would be great for admins like me that hate sub-forums and just want to lock cotent away, basically it takes the idea of msn and yahoo groups and integrates it into vB

not sure how much work this is, as i've been too busy to do much apart from make some sort of decision regarding the look but when my sites up and running on vB3 it will probably take up most of my time trying to get this done.

not sure how much functionality i'll give the group masters, probably let them decide a colour scheme, but meh look yourself.

proper development will start soon (by me) not sure if anyone else is gonna run with the idea, but yeah i'll probably make a version untill then i posted something in this thread, it's not alot but it's something while i learn to code better

i'm currently working on a script to be released soon, shortly followed by another (should be around a week between the two) then i'll start on this, hopefully by that stage it shouldn't take me too long as most of the stuff i need for this to work i'll have learn't with the first two.

aint got a clue, basically, it's major hold up in terms of development is me launching my site for vb3, once i've done that, this will be my priority, but at the moment, i'm tweaking code on two other hacks "Aural Reciprocation" (vbulletin powered bash.org) and "Confessions" (everyone should know what that is by now), so it's just a matter of releasing those and getting my site upto vb3 then i'll be able to give you an eta, sorry for the delay :(

the idea is that you can add to any memeber to team by set userteamid to anymember on your board
