Its sad times we live in but life must go on. If you had it as a national holiday then that would be one less day business could be done and thats what most terrorists want, to disrupt the normality of things.

Understandable since you're overseas...naturally because American is so utterly focused on its internal affairs (or stuff blowing up overseas), it's been everywhere today.

i was gonna go over seas for a vacation...but im not going to now...to much crap going on right now :(

I used to think this as well but you have to think that we don't get off for the day Peral Habor was bombed either so I doubt we will ever get off for September 11th

Not to be an a-hole, but Pearl Harbor was a military attack. For the most part (excluding the Pentagon), 9/11 was an attack on civilians. I really do think it should be a national holiday. IIRC Bush made some bulls*** holiday that doesn't even occur on the same day.

Politics shouldn't come into this. Just spare a thought for the families of the thousands who lost their lives.

Even if you're not in the country, it's the main story in the news here.

I think Australia will be alot more aware with the first anniversery of the Bali Bombings.
