PhotoPost Alternative?
I went to buy photopost but they will not take paypal unless you have already bought from them (makes no sense to me).
So I am looking for an alternative since I can not go with my first option. Any ideas on a photo gallery that has those options I would like to hear. Thanks in advance |
I've never seen anything else that compares to PhotoPost. If you've got the money for it and you're willing to spend it, ask someone to help you make the purchase.
I think it's worth it, even if the one-time purchase isn't very convenient. |
I have the money... And If they would take paypal I would bought already.
But none my friends have cc's and I have a lot in my paypal. Also then I would not truly own it due to someone else would have control of it. I noticed they used to take it. :( I prolly end up buying another vb in my depression. |
4-images gallery?
|

A more expensive alternative with fewer standard options and no vb integration. It's hard to beat PhotoPost. |
They kindly emailed me and let me pay via paypal.
So I should be installing it some time tonight :) ~ is all happy. But I still have the erg to buy more vb's ~ Shivers ~ Dances saying how good the peeps at photopost are. |
That's good news!
|
Yes, You have to love when a company will work with you.
This just is more reason vbulletin/vbulletin related items are the best :) |
4 images has basic intergration of vbulletin plus it allows more file types then Photopost
|
I played with that for a bit and did not care for it at all.
If i was just going to use a stand alone it is ok for free. |
PhotoPost sucks, and the vBulletin integration is pitiful. IMHO. :)
|
yep, I bought photopost and it sucks.. there is also no template system. How do they expect me to customize it? I dont know where to look in the php files
|
I looked at Talisman's site and it looks very well intergraded.
I will know more once they send me my dl link. :) |

you can only use one style... photopost doesnt support multiple styles.. that also sucks and its been requested multiple times but photpost doesnt care enough to add it. |

Looks pretty nice to me :) I read and it has style sheets. Not to hard. |

I've been working on a file-gallery (supports images as well an unlimited number of other file-formats) that is integrated with vBulletin 3. I mentioned it a long while ago in a thread somewhere, but now it's getting very close to completion (after some 3+ months of development). My plans for it upon completion are still a bit vague though (whether to release it for sale). ;)

www.albinator.com huh, will check it out
a free alternative is http://www.chezgreg.net/coppermine/index.php aint ever tried it, but it looks ok |
what about Vbulletin intergration ?
|
I use coppermine. It works very good with invision but not so hot with vb.
Also it does not have half the options that photopost has. I think photopost is the best option. If you have the money. |

I use coppermine to and it works yust fine with my vbulletin.
It uses its own database you integrate Usergroups and users from vbulletin to coppermine. That is good enough for me and its working so im happy =) http://www.dab-online.net/coppermine |

The largest problem with most image gallery scripts I've seen is design.... for I personally think they're all horrid. The text usually doesn't fit in, and the tables are laid out awkwardly, as if done by an amateurish web designer. And the price on most these scripts is ridiculous, despite their huge apparent flaws. Some are also designed way to simple (very basic features), yet priced quite expensively. You could probably pick up a PHP book and code a gallery yourself, to save the money.
Hopefully I can provide a solution to this, with the script I'm working on. :p |

hey velocd, I wouldnt mind beta testing that script for you! :) I currently have an unhacked board I could test it on... oh wait, im looking at your screenshot.. is that for vb3? if so then I guess im going to have to stick to photopost. |
