send files, smilies, font, choose whether it pops up or not

displays RSS news of pop music

displays whether you have unread PMs

displays last posts

the messenger keeps an open connection to the server so it doesn't refresh or click

messages are transmitted in about 0.5-1s

works with IE5+ and MOZ1.1+

file transfers

shows avatar of other person when you start talking

change font/bold/underline

send /me things, send pictures right in the messenger window

open browser window on other person's comp

Play connect4 and os&xs

works with vb2 and 3 with no modification

No plans for a open release.

nar because i have seen theres already a few people making them for here, so i think i keep this to my self, plus the last hack i posted on here what was the tombot one got slagged off a far bit, thats a real prob with here i feel the way people jump in for the kill on people who post hard work just because they have little bugs.

well its like this the majority always complain wether they pay for it or not
infact lots of people think its the god given right to recieve free stuff
but try to focus on those people that do appreciate
altho it be a minority :D

This is the exact sort of site modification I've been searching for, and I know both my board members and I would postively love this.

it's a real shame you don't plan on releasing this hack, it looks great. as for tombot, your part of the coding was great, it was just the install that was a pain in the arse (but that was not your fault). overall tombot was cool.

if you change your mind about releasing this hack, plase let us know cos i'd jump at the chance to use this :)

looks good, some folk will always slag off some things its their point of view and not about your work, besides most have give good feedback if that counts for anything anyway.

There's no way he would. People have been begging for this since...forever.

None of my members liked Tombot as it responded a little too quickly to people's posts. Ah well. I might try it another time.

well right now its kinda dead after updateing to vb3 kinda killed it was hopeing it would work with both versons because it was standalone code but all the way of how cookies and everything works as been redone so the code for the it has got to be redone so it works with vb 3 as thats going be what most will be useing once it goes rc.

from what i recall that could be editing in the file to make it reply less and slower.

Still, releasing it for vB2 would make alot of people happy :D

TomBot was a great hack - a marvellous integration of a chatbot into vB. :)

I cant belive anyone would bash the tombot hack after the uproar that happened after the whole auto reply system joke.

boy this topics old. it was out on here for vb3 even when vb3 was in beta, i was let to post it in the vb2 forum when vb3 was in beta due to the fact it was a add on aand in no way edited vb's files or database.

but due to some users thinking and deminding for me to do this and that when it was made very clear no support would be able to be given i have pulled the hack because i just dont need the crap from a hand full of people. sad really that a hand full of people make something like this happen and im not the first or last to have that prob.

I think it's fantastic,very GREAT hack! O_o

its not about money, just abit of basic respect from some users that people here do have full time jobs and when they say no support can be given it means that and not for some people to start e-mailing pm'ing and deminding stuff because its not nice.

anyway i dont have the files anymore because i had to format pc, might have them hanging around on a site server somewhere i dunno.

anyway i have just uploaded it to the vb3 beta forum with abit of a updated look from the one that was in the vb2 forum.

if the same stuff starts to happen that being people deminding stuff i will just pull it.
