quote issues

Good Afternoon All,

Just a quick question. Whenever some uses the quote function in the newreply.php file, it will not fill in the quote of the actual message. It will only show who you're quoting from.

What area within newreply.php should I look at? :chinese:

Does this only happen in newreply.php, or also in newthread.php, and private.php?

And to modify the [quote] BB code, check your custom vB codes in the admin cp.

Happens in all three. It's really strange.

Ok here's the deal, whenever a user tries to use the quote button in a given thread it will only quote the first letter of the original message.

For example:

Original message as posted:

Vb.org is a great site
[quote][reply]

Now what's happening when user click on the quote button:

Checked the custom vb codes regarding the quote function and this is what I found:

<blockquote><smallfont>quote:</smallfont><hr>{param}<hr></blockquote>

Seems to work fine when I just quote within a new thread, however when I quote from someone else it cuts everything off except for the first letter of their response.

What's the default quote function supposed to be? Here's my vbcode replacement:

<blockquote><smallfont>quote:</smallfont><hr>{param}<hr></blockquote>

Is this what it should be?

Splitfyre 06-30-2003 08:20 PM

Splitfyre 07-01-2003 12:42 AM

Code:

<blockquote><smallfont>quote:</smallfont><hr>{param}<hr></blockquote>
