nice idea filbie

DrkFusion 06-19-2003 06:55 PM

I am sorry Filburt but you are in violation of the signature rules. According to this thread made by FireFly either images or text can be used, but not both. If they have been updated, please ignore this message. If not consider this your first warning :p. Please change it immediatly before I must hack the vB system and change it for you :p

Regards,
The 2nd in line cheif of operation

Xenon 06-19-2003 06:59 PM

@Keptic maybe you should read the rules exactly yourself :)

filburt1 06-19-2003 07:13 PM

Smilies count?

assassingod 06-19-2003 07:14 PM

Nice sig, but I prefer your unreleased signature;

bharvey42 06-19-2003 07:17 PM

I wouldn't think it would count. Technically it's only text and then rendered into a smile

Xenon 06-19-2003 08:13 PM

hmm there is a function added to member.php to check if it's a valid sig or not.
so if it's invalid you'll not be able to submit it ;)

and no, smilies don't count :)

If that rule is the case then you are in violation of them, 10 lines of small text when the rules state 8 small lines of text maximum.

Whether you're admin or not the rules should apply to everyone...

filburt1 06-19-2003 08:39 PM

It's eight lines for me...depends on your resolution. In reality it's actually 7...

MUG 06-19-2003 08:52 PM

"up to 90 chars per line" ;)

filburt1 06-19-2003 09:25 PM

Stefan! How could you!?

DrkFusion 06-19-2003 09:43 PM

Lol...

Xenon 06-19-2003 09:44 PM

aaaargl, i have to cut down the english versions of my quotes ^^
or removing the helplines for users ^^

MUG 06-19-2003 10:14 PM

Suspend his signature filburt

Talisman 06-19-2003 11:35 PM

All's not right in the world, folks. We have Filbert1 trying to add smileys to his sig and just look what happens!

You better keep scowling instead, Turtle, or you'll jinx us all. ;)

Erwin 06-20-2003 02:12 AM

LOL! The sky is falling...

Smoothie 06-20-2003 02:15 AM

filburt1-

you're my hero. Also, it's perpetually. ;)

S.Shady 06-20-2003 03:44 AM

well as much as i hate to be against "The Man".

us members do get our sigs suspended over those rules and rules are rules.
:D

edit. on side note im going to go see what perpeturally means :)

edit#2. filburt did you mean to say perpetually ? because i cant find perpeturally anywere :)

Velocd 06-20-2003 04:03 AM

I think it's quite obvious he meant to say perpetually. ^^;;

Yep.
/me does the usual shrug

Stefan! How could you!?
You can't talk, the bottom line of your signature is 96 characters long, 6 characters above the limit. Ohh, I got you. :p

Velocd 06-20-2003 04:47 AM

Beware of editing your signature prior to those new rules when they were put into place, for then you're stuck
(that is, with getting text and images)

S.Shady 06-20-2003 05:39 AM

my sig is in now way near breaking the rules :)

[high]* S.Shady pats Shady on back.[/high]

Chris Gwynne 06-20-2003 09:05 AM

Whether you all play around joking or not, rules are rules, and if you expect members to comply to them then at least the people in charge should do too.

Xenon 06-20-2003 09:12 AM

maybe i should write a small script so all sig not compliing with the rules will be deleted in a second? :)

the new security system in member.php doesn't allow myselft to have an sig against the rules, i just haven't changed it since a long time...

but the only thing i'd delete would be the important links line, and i think it should stay as we have a lot of newbies browsing who needs em...

Chris Gwynne 06-20-2003 09:15 AM

So, we're all allowed large sigs? Sweet.

Dean C 06-20-2003 10:25 AM

Fight the power! :p

I was really tired yesterday ;)

Tony G 06-20-2003 11:04 AM

Woo, filburt smiling! A sight to remember. ;)

Xenon 06-20-2003 12:44 PM

yeah, unknown feeling, but it looks nice :p

@a-drive: if you want, we can become really strict on signature rules, but then you'll see a lot of suspended sigs, as then i won't be in the mood anymore to slightly change an offending sig so it fits in the rules again, no then whenever i see a sig just slightly against it, it will be deleted....
If that's what you want, i have no problem with it, i'll forward all protestmails to you then :)

Ok deal. :) If you could forward them to either my PM box or my email, it'd be appreciated.

Thanks.

Chris M 06-20-2003 04:10 PM

LMAO:p

A few days ago, smilies did count, till I PM'ed Stefan complaining that my sig was under 8 lines of small text, and the longest line being 89 chars, yet somehow it still wasn't allowed - Then he realised it counted smilies;):):p

Satan

Xenon 06-21-2003 10:31 AM

A real man would be too proud to post things like that :p

it was never planned that smilies would count, it was just a lille bug :)

Chris Gwynne 06-21-2003 08:01 PM

So we can all use the amount of text and lines you use? ... Please edit the rules accordingly then please. :)
