What should they add or take out of Vb3?
 

Well since the public beta is out, why not post some comments about what you think should be changed?

Not so many friggin listboxes in the admin CP...

I hate to admint this (:p), but I have to agree with filburt on this one. Or at least, a setting to be able to use listboxes or not use listboxes in the Admin CP.

Add:

Sub-forums depth limit (similar to forum depth) - this is so you can select "yes" to show sub-forums, and not get subforums of subforums of subforums showing;)

Documentation about functions and what they do, and what "options" is in both admincp/forum.php and admincp/user.php

Chris, that's a good idea about definitions for functions. Well from looking through the code I think it's quite easy to understand anyway, but documentation on it would be excellent for hackers, like reference :).

They should take out: nothing.

I would love to see the ability to set permissions go use specific styles based on usergroups. I will probably be hacking that back in.

I like to let paying customers have several styles but default members only have one.

Hehe - I know a few people who will be happy that you are updating your styles for paying customers hack for vB3, which I hope you will;):)

Would be nice if they used something like PHPDoc (search). Javadoc is great and it's nice that it's mostly ported to PHP.

How about a faq on the paypal integration i mean whats it for? lol

also if u are making styles its impossible to add an outer boder to cats etc, unless you define it in the css, but they did leave a check box for it in. might wanna fix that as currently setting it does nothing and you cant change the colour of it unless u ad css definition, which is s hame for folk who have no idea of css

i think a major thing they did leave out was the HTML color box's on the style edits, there in vB2...

Makes it much easier to see what colors need to be changed on the styles seeing the colors in those little boxes beside the HTML code !

Which listboxes are you guys talking about? The ones in the left panel? You can turn those off, it those are the ones.

hmm. this is a tough one.

i think the style editing and template editing need to be tweaked alittle. maby im just tooooooo used to vb2 but vb3 is a pain in the ass at least have a color box next to the colors you add in for the styles.

The ones for options, templates...pretty much everywhere there used to be a nice text heirarchy.

oi i forgot this you know how you vcan change the textsize by holding ctrl and moving the wheel on mouse well in vb3 nothing is changed but the damned title on the pages
