My first VB3 hack is under construction....
Call me stupid .... go on...
Ok hack should be fine throughout the beta testing and i will revise if nessassary upon vb3 rc. introducing the ..... The hack hack Because the admin cp is so well constructed i am doing this hack to try to keep uniformity within the admin panel unlike the nav list on vb2 which got very lenghty and messy The hack hack will provide 1 link in the admin nav list that will display a page that has all your hack options displayed in groups by authours ... it will be db driven and to add a hack will work out easy as it will eliminate continual editing of the admin/index.php. Just add the links via the "add hack" section. this can only work if all hackers are prepared to work their hacks into the hack hack system when they code their admin areas where possible. I dont have any screenies yet but i will provide a.s.a.p what do you guys think ..... will you support this hack when coding / porting your hacks ???? I am open for suggestions and connents PS This will be a free hack :) |
This will be nice then I don't have to wright down what I have installed.
Also if you need any help you have my ICQ. |
Hmm...I would liek to see this..sounds good ..:D
|
i say go for it :D
|
Heh...
This is a similar idea to my Hack Credits, but go for it - Yours sounds much better, as it is Hack Author not the Hacker based... Satan |
Sounds good. I've already made 2 hacks (which hellsatan has the privilege of testing;))
|
I have added 1 extra link under vb options called vb Installed Hacks
It will then produce a simmilar style menu as the options menu but with the hacks options |
Cool:)
I also have made a vB3 hack, not one I will be releasing though;) Satan |
Tsk, tsk, tsk...
Spending all your precious time on personal hacks when umpteen thousand vb.org-ers are waiting for you to update the thousand or so vB2 hacks you made. Where are your priorities, Satan? ;) LOL!!! |
:p
I am also updating several vB2 hacks at the same time;) Satan |
Oh, good.
(Whew!) |
Ok I am confused by vB3:(
It says that "allowsmilies" etc are forum options, yet they are not present in the forum table:eek: Satan |
I made a little modification n my localhost vb3 that expands nav tables :) like vb options, when you expand it, you see vb options links, and when you expan styles and templates you see all the links. It makes it much more organized.
|
Sounds like vbHacker... Anyway, I hear ya guys, I'm working on re-designing my link system for vB3 (and, of course, I'm breaking old habits and coding in the same "pretty" layout of vB3, so it takes longer). It's gonna be a long day. Then, afterward, I have to work on my gallery system.

Those are bitfields ... It's the new way to handle permissions.... Very cool though! Check out includes/init.php... more specifically, where it says Start permissions / options bitfield names. Also, check out the function bitwise() on functions.php if you want to learn how they work :) |
what about finishing the hack you wrote that I already paid for before moving on to other things?
A little frustrated since it is not fully functional yet |
