Color Coded Users Online Currently Hack

What this does:
Makes the users currently online box color coded upon usergroup. So admins and registered users names appear in diffrent font colors.

Querys to run: 0
Files to edit: 1 (index.php)
Templates to add: 0
Instilation time: 30 sec

Contacts for help are in the notepad

Thanks to zajako for helping me make this.

sleepbirdcyp 06-11-2003 12:06 PM

already done by someone?

Boofo 06-11-2003 12:08 PM

Yes, a few times over a long time ago. ;)

Dean C 06-11-2003 01:21 PM

Yes this has been done several times over by many different people. If your hack isn't any different then i'll have to delete it?

Sorry :) Keep hacking though ;)

d00d if you want to make a update for the orignal one of this hack where admins can change the usergroup colors in the admin cp that would be better than rerelasing it if you need help with the code let me know :D

S.Shady 06-12-2003 10:31 PM

you could do it with replacments easaly
all you would have to do is figure out how to put that field in the styles. :) ill try for fun since i need to learn php.

S.Shady 06-12-2003 10:52 PM

i got the replacments and i got the text boxes in the style page but i cant figure out how to make it edit the replacments

wolfe 06-12-2003 11:58 PM

give me a min

wolfe 06-12-2003 11:59 PM

d00d even easier run these querys

PHP Code:

INSERT INTO settinggroup VALUES
(50'Members HighLight Colors'50);

INSERT INTO setting VALUES (NULL50'Administrator Glow Color''admincolor''#xxxxxx''Choose Which Color You Want The Administrators To Highlight In'''1);
INSERT INTO setting VALUES (NULL50'Super Moderator Glow Color''supmodcolor''#xxxxxx''Choose Which Color You Want The Super Moderators To Highlight In'''2);
INSERT INTO setting VALUES (NULL50'Moderator Glow Color''modcolor''#xxxxxx''Choose Which Color You Want The Moderators To Highlight In'''3);
INSERT INTO setting VALUES (NULL50'Normal Member Glow Color''memcolor''#xxxxxx''Choose Which Color You Want The Normal Member To Highlight In'''4);

then edit the index.php file where the hack is installed and then find <font color=" xxxxx " and replace with these values

so here example

For Admins put $admincolor
For Super Mods put $supmodcolor
For Mods put $modcolor
For Normal Members put $memcolor

and then go into the admin options and set the colors :D all done :D

if you have more groups just insert a new option :D

:D

coo, but when i was searching i found one where you just type stuff in the admin panel and it does the color change. I did not know this had been made before when i created this. The reason it was not more ummm better, is because i just started learning php and i dont know much about it or querys.

wolfe 06-13-2003 09:52 AM

d00d thats what the above does in the admin option :D

I already did this but you can do it per style, which is much easier.

Killa2002 06-18-2003 03:07 AM

i did this hack, but the admin that created the forums stayed bold and italicized, its version 2.2.6

dkilburn 06-22-2003 03:37 PM

I added this but it just changed the color of the first person on the list... hmmm.... I am using v 2.2.9

Here's what I have in index.php:

PHP Code:

      if ($loggedin['usergroupid'] == and $highlightadmin) {

$username "<font color=brown><b><i>$loggedin[username]</i></b></font>";

      }elseif (
$loggedin['usergroupid'] == 2) {

$username "$loggedin[username]";

      }elseif (
$loggedin['usergroupid'] == 5) {

$username "<b><font color=green>$loggedin[username]</font></b>";

      } else if ((
$mod["$userid"] or $loggedin['usergroupid'] == 7) and $highlightadmin) {

$username "<font color=blue>$loggedin[username]</font>";

      } else {
      echo
"";

$username $loggedin['username'];

Thanks for this! Even though I did not directly follow the hack itself, reading through it helped me to learn the syntax I needed to do minor changes on my own forum! I also applied this usergroup color thing to one of my other hacks that I use, Number of Active Users Today.

Scroll to the bottom to see. :)

Thanks again!

It doesn't change the color of the first person in the list. Anyone have any idea why? For now, I changed the display order so regular users are displayed before mods and admins but that's not really a solution.

Crank 02-06-2004 09:39 PM

ya im on 2.3.4 and this is not working for me either

peterska2 02-08-2004 10:50 PM

I installed it, however when I have more than on Administrator online, the first one is the only one with color. Same with the other groups..
