Maybe it's time for a little optimization? I'd suggest having the high scores on a different page; maybe add another column to the games table.

I am still trying to figure out why my game icons won't save when I try an upload them.

Try posting in the Support forum, or the respective hack support thread, bharvey.

The query problem with the arcade is immense, that's why I've put adding games on hold; I can't cope with the queries...otherwise I'd have em all :D

Isn't there about 70 games now?

how do you guys check the number of queries it generates? I've been trying to figure out a way to do that for days!

That's all the games I have at the moment and I have 37 queries on the page (though 12 of those come from my portal). I've been waiting to see if v2.1 will be more optimized before I add too many more...

Erwin is the admin of a vBulletin hacking forum, now lets see, this guy knows what he's doing ;).

IIRC Erwin removed all the mini-scoreboards and top scorers. ;)

93 queries is still too many.

Think about it. 1 user visiting your arcade is the same as 8 users visiting my in terms of database queries. :)

Yes, especially since the forum gets about 10,000 unique visitors per day. However, not all visit the arcade.

How bad is it to have that many? It hasn't seemed to affect the forums yet, so is it oretty safe? We like having the scores displayed a the same page as the games, but if it's a concern I would most certainly remove it.

ive got the arcade hack thats on here...with those games.

how do i add more games to that, aswell as a scoreboard for each game...does anyone know ?

Just download the games and follow the instructions. Scoreboards are created automatically.

I havent touched a thing I dont think. Well I did add arcade king which ADDS queries. Why are my queries so low as opposed to some of those crazy ones?

Hey this thread is over a year old! You could have posted a new one. Steve was only being light-hearted anyway ;)

still leaves a bad taste in ones mouth
when you are dealing with a company forum, people that appear to represent a company should maintain a professionalism about them.
It's not like this is the first time I see bad behaviour. I wouldnt say peep if that were the case. I see more and more each day and the admins should attempt to curb this.

This is not a run of the mill forum where mods are not subject to certain standards. This forum is an extension of a company we do busineess with. I would hope mods here would always keep that in mind when dealing with Jelsoft customers.

lol @ tenbucks. umm one customer out of how many? And if you really are going to judge upon a post for laughter you have a problem. BUT while I'm here. Mine has 155 games Arcade King the bottom to tell how many plays etc. Oh it's a heaven :)
