I got a problem !

<a href="http://www.gsmforums.com" target="_blank">www.gsmforums.com</a>

Ok its my first attempt at VB !

Problem

I have plenty of members for some reason but am lacking posts !

I have changed things round, added forums taken away forums but nothing is working, my members seem to take a look then GO.

I noticed some real nice boards all transparent and stuff, would like that look but wouldnt know where to start making something like that.

So give me your opinions and how to help me

thanx

gaz

Perhaps allowing guests to view your forums would help generate some interest.

LOL, yea, excellent point.

Tony G 05-30-2003 12:24 PM

Or at least a test account? Thats for us to view, but yeah making people register that way doens't work. They will register if they like your community enough to post. Not to view.

Erwin 05-30-2003 12:28 PM

People are registering to see your forums, then leaving.

Username VB

sorry about that

My opinion as well. Registering just out of curiosity.

Steve Machol 06-01-2003 03:32 PM

The point we are trying to make is that if you want more members (a certain percentage of which will be active), then allow guests to see what is on your forums. You are turning off people who could be good contributors.

Point taken have now enabled guests to view the forum.

The buttons are really nice, though I'm not too fond of the colors. Maybe gray or silver would work better. Meh, your call. :)

I agree

take a look now :) Tell me what you think

Tony G 06-02-2003 11:21 AM

Too much white used. You need to make the table colors appear different to the background. Gets the best effect.

Gaz.t 06-02-2003 11:26 AM

Hows that !

Tony G 06-02-2003 11:30 AM

Better. :)

And use a PHP Re-direct. They aren't as annoying as HTML ones.

Gaz.t 06-02-2003 11:37 AM

Where can I get PHP Re-direct

Thanx :)

WEForums 06-03-2003 11:47 AM

PHP Code:

<?header( "Location: [url]http://www.gsmforums.com/index.php[/url]" );?>

Save as index.php and delete the HTML one.

EDIT: Actually...why not just delete the HTML one? It should find the next index file...and if index.php is all you have it should automatically go to that.

I think that is ok !!!

Not mastered this redirect yet !

Gary King 07-21-2003 11:31 PM

Pardon me?

I would say to make itso that the "Moderator chat" section is not viewable by regular members. In my belief, and I have had friends who say this, it seems like a secret clubhouse that everyone knows about where they talk about you.

Also, open it up for guests, and get a portal.

Gaz.t 07-24-2003 01:29 PM

portal !!!
