Photopost to vb/Home Intergration v1.7
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
// Photopost 4.6.6 to vbhome/forum Intergration (vb2.0 & vbadvanced 1.01 vb3 Intergation // Created by PixelFX & Respective Developers // Version 2.0 in design //////////////////////////////========================== NEW UPDATE COMING: I've got this system working with vb3.o and v2.0 New Credits: Updated Hack: PixelFX New Thumbnail Includer: Midnightz And Thanks to everyone below. Update Coming Soon! INTRODUCTION: After searching the web and a few sites, I wanted a way to show single / latest gallery images on my vbhome/vbulletin forum. This hack, was setup in hopes to help others get a similar result to get gallery images from photopost to show up on your vbhome/vbulletin front page. The concepts for this hack came is from a combo of locations, as well as adding some of my own custom hacks and templates. NOTE 4 vbindex: This hack should work with both vbhome & vbindex, the only difference for vbindex is you would make changes to the vbindex index.php not the vbhome index.php, also you would setup templates for use in the vbindex templates rather vbhome. Make sence? I'll rate a seperate txt for that soon. CREDITS: - Grunt for phpinclude, - Matt Chroust for thumbincluder.php, - Craigr for helping at vbhome, with support - TECK for vbhome 4.2 - Enthusiast, Inc. for PhotoPost 4.1.0, RC1 & community - Jelsoft Enterprises Limited for vbulletin 2.3.2 - vBulletin.org for support learning how to hack vb ;) - PixelFX for vb/home templates & some custom php vb hacking below. - midnightz for updated thumbnail includer (see end of thread) HACK ADDONS: Forum home addon - Mickie D Follow Link below for addon download https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=123 Catigory Exclude Addon - PixelFX Credits in zip file, http://files.pixelfx.ca/catigory_exclude_addon1.0.zip LICENCE INFO: To get all required files you need licenced copy of vbulletin v2.2.x / 2.3.2 & photopost pro 4.1.0+ / I'm working on version for vb3.0 gamma/RC1 as well, which is in testing :) FILES NEED: vBulletin 2.3.3+ (installed) Tested on 2.2.x as well PhotoPost 4.51+ (Choose to intergrate with vbulletin when you install photopost.) vBHome 4.2+ (clean install) thumbincluder.php tweaked, and link to database. thumbincluder.txt modified by pixelfx for catigory addon - coming soon. thumbincluder.txt version 2, by midnightz I take no credit for the thumbnailincluder.php which is needed for this hack to run. Although I have made edits to it, for my next version of this script LOCATION OF THUMBNAIL-INCLUDER: (requires membership account and licence for photopost) http://www.photopost.com/members/for...threadid=26550 for the thumbnailincluder11.txt rename to what ever ya want file.php be sure you set varables to your liking. Then upload, To your gallery's root directory. I've found you can use multiple files and it works fine :) See addon coming soon for that. Example: http://www.url.com/gallery/thumbnailincluder.php SUPPORT: I will only support this hack on this thread currently. aka here, if you would like to create addons please PM me :) https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=53539 BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING BACK UP YOUR FORUM DATABASE & GALLERY, FILES ETC. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I've tested this on my two vb sites, and it works awesome. However I can't predict what it will do on sites that are heavely hacked. LAST UPDATED: December 7th,2003 (note that update news info can befound at end of thread) Note: This should work if you edit the forum/index.php but only if you want images to show up in your forums rather than your vbhome. This is something I need to test more, so will post alternate update shortly for that. NOTE: this version is for vbhome 4.2 to php 4.1.0 intergration, again addon will be posted soon. NOTE: Text File Download at buttom of file, MAIN DEMO: NA - Coming soon.. for version 2.0 COMING SOON: Addon - News & Specific Image Catigory on it's own page. Example of addon: - Supports Random Images - Supports Recent Images - Supports Most Popular Images This works with main hack, and or sub pages :) (coming soon!) TESTED ON: vbulletin v2.3.2 Final, Photopost 4.1.0 RC2 , and vbhome v4.2 (clean install) PLEASE CLICK INSTALL: If you use this hack, thanks News Update: [12.04.2004] I'm still working on a vb 3.0.3/pp4.8.5 version of this. Its also got a unique gallery/news system with the update. It's taken a while for me to get it out as I've been swamped with contracts, but I hope to release update soon. |
Check attach for screenshot of how this hack could look on your website. Again please note, I have vbulletin 2.30, photopost 3.3.1 intergation with vbuleltin, vbhome 4.2 installed, with the above code for this to work.

phpinclude |
look in your templates
|
ok if i run the ThumbnailIncluder.php it shows me latest pic that been uploaded so i know its connecting and thats bits fine but can i get it to show on the VBhome can i heck - it just aint showing
I get a sort of black line and the page seems to of shunk in width any ideas |
how do i get it so that when i click on the picture it opens in new window as at moment for me its opening and closeing down vbhome.
I had a mess and i think its got something to do with thumbnailincluder.php but knowing what code to add is even harder |
I'll look into it, you would have to add some target code I'm guessing that would say load a new browser page. aka something like target"_blank" I didn't write the thumbnailer it's self however, you could possible setup when you setup your templates to load a new page there.
Again I'll look into it and post what I find :) Update: I'm currently working on a update and testing this with phopost 4.0 pro.. so many have to post a 1.1 version of this script. |
cheers pixel - really aprreciate if this was possible
|
Really great. I'll install this as soon as you make a downloadable readme.txt file, ok?! The demo looks just perfect!
|
I'm working on a update for photopost pro 4.0, I want to make sure it still installs ok with that, then will post update, and txt file with it :)
|
PixelFx, yes, please make it to work with version 4.0, so I could see it action. Could you post in the hack the modified thumnailinclude.php file needed for this hack?
Thanks, Marco |
working on the hack more today... because the thumnailinclude.php includes code from photopost all I can do is link the forum at photopost where you can download it to keep it legal. Which I will add a link for in the text version. Gotta keep everyone happy :)
update: going out of town, for a few days, will try and post text release and update for photopost 4.0 intergration when I get back... :) have a great weekend guys... |
This looks like a great hack, just I don't understand the line

the phpinclude template in your admin cp.
|
Thanks for your help :D
|
Hmm
I followed the instructions fine and have got everything how it should be but I get "Query failed", is there a way I can turn on more detailed error reporting so I can see WHAT failed please? http://www.zclub.net/gallery/thumbincluder.php It doesn't include on my vbHome at the moment although $gallery is definately in there. Thanks a lot |
did ya edit the thumbincluder.php file?

the relative path looks wrong;
// path to the data directory where pictures reside RELATIVE |
I did originally try a relative url but that didn't work so I changed it to that, sorry, I have now changed it to
"/data" because my thumbincluder is in www.zclub.net/gallery/ and data is www.zclub.net/gallery/data Still getting a query failure though :( http://www.zclub.net/gallery/thumbincluder.php Thanks for your time, much appreciated! |
PixelFX - very nice hack. Is there any way you could make this work with Tigga's excellent myvbindex?
I've just purchased Photopost, so this would be a great asset to the homepage. |
Cannot get this to work , running vb2.2.9 , pp3.3.1 , vbhome4.2
All i get is compressed articlebits and a huge blank area on the right side of the index page. |
I didn't test the hack with vb2.2.9, however when I set it up I was using vb 2.3.0 final, photopost 3.3.1 and vbhome 4.2, I don't know if it works with 2.2.9 ..
I'm currently working on trying to intergrate this hack with photopost 4.0, vb 2.3.0, and vbhome 4.2.. I'm also playing around with photopost 4.0 and vb3.0 intergration with my test board... nothing stable yet, but good learning experience.. ---- Russ_T your relitive path would be, something like, /usr/home/accountname/gallery/data, not your http path.... the best way to find that info out is if you have SSH/telnet access on your server. You would just cd to the data dir, then type pwd to get the full path information... |
works fine on 2.2.9
|
Hi, thanks for the tip, I now have the link set up correctly, I'm gonna go destroy my vbulletin 2.3.0, vbhome 4.2, photopost 4.0 install and start a fresh using this tip :D
Thanks, I await the update eagerly :D |
not bad hack but i never got it to work on my vbhome for some reason i just got a black line.
Anyway i went about this another way and its paid off and without any hacking either. In thumbincluder i changed Line 223 to this so when i clicked on Pics they opened in new window. print "<A class=\"$class_link\" href=\"$Url_Path"."showphoto.php?photo=".$line['id']. "\" target=\"_blank\">"; Make sure u edit the file first so it actually does connect to your photopost database. Now i know that was working i just added this code to my forum home template and it works a dream (i have it set to show last 8 new pics) <IFRAME border="0" name="frame" scrolling=no src="/******/thumbincluder.php" frameBorder="0" width="960" height="125"> </IFRAME> **** location of where its stored on your server yep i know its an iframe but if u read above the code is edited so it opens in new window - try it - works a treat for me anyway. |
kewl idea :)
One of the things I've been wanting to do with the thumbnailincluder was add a feature to togge which gallery catigory the gallery image links to. I'm not quite sure what's involved with that yet... but looking into it, anyone want to try and take a stab at it? |

And not just one time too :( I am currently using the instructions given by Craigr ( thread here ) and it works. |

how m8 are u going to share the info ?
|
All the info to display thumbs from a specific cat are here:
http://www.photopost.com/members/for...threadid=26550 |
sorted - never even though of reading their own forums :)
works a treat now |
hehe, I read the photopost forum for the thumbnail includer, guess I need to read it again, what I saw was something to exclude directories, what I was looking for was something to just choose a specific catigory, however excluding works as well :)
I've just about got my next update ready hoping by the weekend... smoothie thanks for your help in thread :) |
