Photo Album Script - Work in progress
Just wanted to get some input on something I'm working on. I needed some ability to upload photos to my site but couldn't find exactly what I needed.
I found some that were too complicated, some that were too expensive, some that I couldn't get to work and some that were just ideas that didn't have released hack yet. What I have so far is a script that:
I have a lot of additions that I will be making this weekend. Just wanted to see what people thought of this type of layout. The only thing that is missing from this initial attempt is to resize the uploaded photo to fit the format of my album. I plan to resize all uploaded images to 500 pixels wide and will have that working by this weekend. It is currently not integrated with vBulletin, other than using the registration database and it does have some extra tables in the vB database, for photo information. I do plan to integrate it into vBulletin later. Screenshots |
I see you could need some desiger.
I could really give some advices to you. Marco |

I'm not looking for any help on working this other than possibly seeking help on answers to problems that come up, if and when they occur.
As far as design goes, it will run with vB templates and will have the same look and feel as whatever template one uses. So, I'm not worried about pizzazing this up to look any different than it does right now. As far as integrating with vBulletin, I don't see that as an issue. Right now, I'm more interested in functionality. One problem that I'm thinking about is how to batch load images. Right now, the images are loaded one at a time. I'd rather have users have the ability to batch load a directory of images and then edit the descriptions, one at a time. Not sure how I'm going to accomplish that. |
i was gonna suggest modifying it a bit to maybe have a version that runs from and uses attachments int the forum.. i may hack this up myself actually..
but as it looks it may require writing a new attachments file |
Just enquiring, but have you seen my vB photo gallery hack?
|
Yes, I saw it. There were a couple of reasons I didn't try it.

^ agreeeeed :) keep it up ipscone
im intending to modify ur hack if u get it done to be used for a feaure system for my members cars :D so it will display rthere car etc and spec :D |
Something like this except for cars.
|
yeah sort of mate but id try and intergrate more into vb ;)
|
It's definitely going to be integrated with vB.
It currently relies on the registration system of vB as well as many of the vB variables functions. It will also use vb style information. I also want to have an indication when new photos are uploaded so members will not have to (unnecessarily) view all albums just to find something new. |
Kool keep it up

Looks very nice to me.
