Wow, only 7 online users
Wow, it's dead right now, come one people post something :D
What happened, the forum's a little slow, but really :ogre: |
I believe some people are having issues with the server, some people are able to access the site whilst others cannot. It's CIA related I think.
Yea, alot of people cant get to .org and vBt.com right now due to some issues, thats why its real slow.
works fine for me :surprised:
i couldnt access by normal means, so i'm using a proxy now :/
yep, it's a problem for all of us, even me can just get into with a proxy..
Same here. I finally got a proxy IP from vb.com to use. I haven't been able to get on since yesterday am.
I can access by a normal way, I must take a proxy to go here since 2 days now.
I must be one of the lucky ones for a change..
I've been able to access the site without any problems. |
I'm using a proxy.
Usin' a proxy and about time I got in.
yeah im using a proxy to acess. Hasnt worked for me in 2 days
Yea, it disappeared yesterday for me, I think, so I now have to use a proxy server to access it. Obviously, there are a lot of issues with the name servers/DNS.
;) proxy access for me too. Hopefully they'll fix the problem soon so others can access
OMG! I love proxies!
i second that Oricon. :D hopefully the issue will be resolved soon, because it sure didnt' feel the same for most of the week, w/o having access to vb.org. :(
I'm using my work proxy server from home via ICA Citrix. Very slow and annoying. I can't get on to it from home too. Looks like a DNS issue, or routing issue.
Works just peachy for me. :D
Wow, it's fine for me too, crazy. The proxies you guys use, what are they, I know you can find proxies on the net, but is that where you guys get them? Or is it with your provider or something?
i just use one which was posted on vb.com :)
It is routing from the nameservers.. I would be happy to provide vb.org with secondary DNS on one of my nameserver boxes to provent this from the future. This is a prime example why you don't keep your eggs in one basket. For us we have three nameserver boxes on three different backbones, UUNet, Savvis and Internap. If their is a routing issue on one of the three, you still have the other two to handle DNS functions.
Doing a whois lookup on vb.com and vb.org show totally different name servers proving it is indeed a routing issue as everyone can reach vb.com One final note, When you are not surfing this site, go into your browser config and turn your proxy off. Proxies are a lot slower then your normal Internet connection over TCP/IP. If anyone has any questions on DNS routing, feel free to PM me |
I use Proxy to...but the speed sucks... :p
What vB-Host says is true - my own server has 3 different nameservers pointing to it as multiple redundancies. :)

Yeap in this day an age, multi home is the only way to go.. e-com is at a all time high and some businesses lose thousands of dollars by just 15 minutes of down time. Two things you should check before signing up with your web host.. whom ever it may be. One be assured they have atleast two premium bandwidth providers (uunet, savvis, sprint, att, qwest, internap, cable and wireless) two make sure their main pipe is not Cogent. For those unaware of the hosting business Cogent is about 12 cents per Gb and about as stable and trouble free as that 99 cent six pack of beer that just says "beer" in blue letters. In Jan, Cogent lost their contract with AOL and Earthlink for a peering points and it has been going down since. What this means is if your server is on Cogent and a user comes from say ATT cable.. they peer and connect.. If that user is on Earthlink or AOL... Well now that user has to go across to a network that shares a peering with both Cogent and AOL or Earthlink creating 3 to 7 more hops to your server.
Things sure have changed since I first started hosting sites and my local user group bbs on a performa 520 and a 64k single channel ISDN line... lol WebSTAR 1.2, MacDNS and Eudroa Mail Server |
The proxy i'm using is super-fast, luckily :D
care to share the IP? ;)
Look at the bright side of this. For the most part, only the people who took the time to search and read at Vbulletin.com are here now. Not much of the stupid 2000 requests for existing hacks and the level of conversation around here is better for the most part.
Hmmm, can we keep this broken forever? :D Amy |
You forgot about me being here, Amy. If I can get through, you know the rest of my following will make it. ;)
Just got it, twas smart enough to check vB.com and get a proxy address that now works.
Didn't work for me on my normal connection though. |
True if it could stay this way it would be perfect....
Amy amy, you're an evil girl ;)
unfortunately my proxy gets slower every second.... |

sorry to go off topic here but... how do you make invisible users visible to moderators?
haha only joking ;) |
well its been 2-3 that i couldnt access vb.org but now its ok as it seems.
great to be back again. |
WOOHOO!!
Yep. I got in with no proxy this time :)
It has worked for me for ages, but our network uses a Proxy, so thats probably why;)
Satan |
I was shut out for a few days, but it's back working for me now. :)
Yay! I don't have to use a proxy anymore, I can visit the site on a normal way again :)
Seems like the problems are solved? |
