Need Beta Testers - vWar and vBulletin integration! **First Beta Out!**

I am currently working on this integration and should have it done soon. I have added alot more functionality to it from the standard vWar 1.4.0. Here are the additions:

General:
  • * News Page (no thread posting yet, just home page news with categories).

Administration:
  • * News section
    * Divisions
    * Weapons selections
    * Game Speed selections
    * Gravity selections
    * Models/Classes/Characters based on game type including pictures.
    * Add members from vb rather than from vWar

User Profiles:
  • * Models/Classes/Characters based on game type including pictures.
    * Division
    * Game Speed preference
    * Gravity preference
    * Favorite Weapons
    * Favorite Maps
    * vWar user profile options link from within vb usercp (only if user is a clan member).

Join Requests:
  • * Division selection
    * Shows age in email

Challenges:
  • * Division selection
    * Gravity selection
    * Game Speed selection
    * Weapons selection
    * Time Zone selection

If I think of more I will post it. Let me know if there is anything else you want to see. Here is a link to the latest progress.

FYI.... had to add this, there are nearly 300 templates to this hack!

UPDATE: If you want to beta test this please click here

Yes....alot of clans are now using it and it is the most popular Clan War/Match script out there and it has been ported to other forum packages...so I thought I would do it for vBulletin...who knows, it may help with more sales....

flup 04-30-2003 04:36 PM

You need to buy that script ?

Hehe , ok than ;)

Dark_Wizard 05-01-2003 12:15 AM

I will be completing the install script tomorrow and I'm now looking for beta testers.

You must be familiar with PHP\MySQL and vBulletin's internal workings. The script works with the following languages: english, spanish, german, dutch, danish and french but need updates that will be derived from the english language file so if you can speak any of these languages and meet the requirements than please post here.

This script is now fully integrated with vb's tables and templates (287 of them!). This was a huge undertaking and thats why I am asking for testers that have some experience. Please DO NOT PM or IM me as I will not answer, you must post here with your request.

PixelFx 05-01-2003 12:45 AM

If you need a tester let me know, I've been wanting to setup a dedicated box for 1942, unreal 2k3, and Cs, so this looks like the perfect system to intergrate, :)

Koutaru 05-01-2003 12:54 AM

It looks very cool :) seems like a great idea. I can't beta test on this one but I'm looking forward to it

iggy123 05-01-2003 02:21 AM

I would like to beta it for you --- i replied to your thread on vwars (fredwest)

PcGamer 05-01-2003 09:54 AM

I am interested in looking at your beta.

you can contact me at admin@pc-gamers.net

site: www.pc-gamers.net

Thank you.

JulianD 05-01-2003 02:48 PM

I'd like to beta test the software. Can you contact me?

Dark_Wizard 05-02-2003 12:06 PM

For those who want to beta test this please send me a PM with your email address and a URL of the location where this is to be installed. The install/uninstall script is complete I just need to clear up a few small bugs and should have this out later today. I will be looking for only 5 beta testers.

Note: This hack is for NEW INSTALLATIONS ONLY! I will be writing an upgrade script only for updates to my hack NOT to integrate existing installations of the standalone version of vWar!

madhouse 05-02-2003 12:17 PM

Very Nice Dark Wizard...

I would be willing to test this out too~!

Dark_Wizard 05-03-2003 10:13 AM

Ok...the hack will be sent to those qualified testers in the next hour. Please post any issues/questions here in this thread.

Dark_Wizard 05-03-2003 10:13 PM

I sent out the first beta.....

Actually it was an easy fix...
change this:
Code:

ALTER TABLE user ADD location varchar(100) NOT NULL default '' AFTER inthread
to this:
Code:

ALTER TABLE user ADD location varchar(100) NOT NULL default '' AFTER inforum

Dark_Wizard 05-04-2003 12:33 AM

The installer was a bear...had to add 308 templates to it :(

madhouse 05-04-2003 01:07 AM

Now everything is installed but when goto the admin section of the war panel and try to make a change:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: field_name() in /home/madhouse/public_html/forum/admin/_lib.php on line 54

madhouse 05-04-2003 01:10 AM

Also is this good for just one clan or multible clans?

I'm getting the same error, what version of php is your server running? Mine is 4.2.2

Also, if you comment out that line with two /'s then you can get into the admin cp for vWar. The problem I'm running into is getting the vwar admin to recognize the fact that I added myself as a "leader"

I'm still looking though.

You missed a step in the readme.txt file.

[t4e]Kicks 05-05-2003 12:04 PM

know which one? I've read through and re-checked everything at least twice.

when you say I missed a step, are you referring to the "field_name" error or the permission error?

Dark_Wizard 05-05-2003 12:43 PM

Ok...I found a workaround for the permissions error. I will send out an update shortly. After this update is sent there will be an upgrade script now included so you don't have to uninstall anymore.

FYI: this hack took a long time to adapt to vb and now has approx 310 templates.

[t4e]Kicks 05-05-2003 02:54 PM

sounds good, I'll check it out during my lunch break

[t4e]Kicks 05-05-2003 04:25 PM

Kicks]ok, maybe not during my lunch break ;)
once we get past this small hurdle I can't wait to play around with it. I think it's the most exciting clan hack currently being developed.

Dark_Wizard 05-05-2003 06:14 PM

Sorry for the delay...the permissions error is completely fixed as well as a few other bugs I did happen to find plus another 23 templates added. The vWar User Control Panel had also been fixed but still having a small issue with the pics which should be resolved soon if not I will send out the new files, installer etc and create an upgrade script for when it is done.
