How many queries does your forum use?

On which page? Each page is different.

[ssst vb-host dont have ripped images of barrysworld on yer sig

Pretty much default since I only have Quick Reply installed.

What do you mean on an average? You can't average out different PHP pages - unhacked standard vB has pages ranging from 9 queries upwards to 20 over. How do you average that? A hacked board can have 150 queries on their arcade hack page, and only 25 on their forumhome. You need to be more specific in your questioning.

And if you sig's image is ripped (as is claimed by a previous poster), I suggest you change it.

You should've asked about the most viewed pages, such as forumdisplay.php, index.php, showthread.php [the most viewed!]

Showthread - 30 - 32 queries
Forumhome - 21 - 22 queries
Forumdisplay - 25 queries

Fifteen to 25 on average for me.

Yeah look how jagged that is compared to mine... http://www.vb-host.com/computer688.gif and like I said mine came from the HTML Writers Guild Clipart CD they gave to members at an after MacWorld dinner around 4 years ago... So doubt it is just ripped off art... I wonder from how jagged that pic is if he even owns the cd.. or ripped it off someones site and altered the background... that above pic is a bad clean up job... Might wanna ask him about it. ;)

anyway barrys world has been around for 4yrs + and if they ripped it (highly doubt it) then why has a large comapny like that escape being sued?

nope... I never even heard of this guy until you gave me the link... So, with that... I think your friend Barry has the SAME clip art cd as I given by the HTML Writers Guild to it's paid members. Your friend Barry might be in some gaming magazines and such.. but that don't mean the image is his. The HWG has had booths at every major Internet convention in the last 5 years including internet world, linux world and mac world and gives many after event dinners and parties at these as well. I think that is a lot bigger then some ads in a magazine... So unless your friend Barry can show trademark to that image to HWG to have it removed from the member cd and have the HWG send notice to it's members I feel that the image is of public domain.

With that can we please now get back on to the topic of this post....

No one is out to sue them because the image is clipart ;) It's not like he is using something trademarked...

saying something is clipart is all well and true and is a good way of getting out of the debate of hey thats ripped, however if folk at barrys world have a psd file your buggered and chances are they will seens how they use this image alot and on differnt things, with many iterations, lastyly when i say psd i dont mean a gif on 1 layer i mean they,ll have a built up version of it probably copyroghted by themselves

lastly barry is not a person hes a corporation, and hes not a friend i just cant go blatant rips

Well actully I have a PSD of this as well as all the images on this cd are in gif, jpg and photoshop formats.. I think this thread is only turning into a flame to discredit my company and promote another hosting company...

its not a case of looking like it! its a case of using the actual image.

which im sorry i dont know eher you got it from but its been ripped, maybe not by you but by someone.

theres just too many similaritys for my liking.

I mean look at it this way. the images on barrysworld are identical to that in your sig (except your`s is condensed to fit the space)

Then the text in your sig for vb-hosts.com looks very much like the text on barrysworld for there header.

This thread is getting out of control. Please take this off vB.org as it has nothing to do with the thread topic. It is not vB.org's position to judge if the images have been ripped. If people suspect this is the case, feel free to contact the owner of the copyright of the images.

come on people! It's a freaking image! I for one, have heard of barrysworld, but have never actually gone there. I've also never heard of vb host until now. Barrysworld is a large company, vb-host is pretty small in comparison. I doubt the owner of barrysworld gives a hoot. I mean c'mon, what's he gonna do? Yea he could sue them, but he'll probably end up spending more money in court then the settlement! Not to mention that there's more than likely no hard proof of this. The guy says he has a CD with the image on it in jpg, gif, and psd. If he proves this on court, barrysworld will be laughed at for making a big deal out of something so stupid. It's an image, not a big deal, not a big deal AT ALL.

edit: and to answer the question, i get about 37 on the home page. And about 197 in a thread, roflmao. Maybe I have too many hacks? :ermm:

I usually have 23 queries on the forumhome, but occasionally it creeps up to 24. On a thread the maximum queries I have had is 30 so far, but the number varies between 23 and 30, is this normal?
