[broken] PM Popup
The pm popup box doesn't seem to be working here. :( I double checked my settings and I have it set to "on", but I don't get a popup box when I get a new pm.
:( |
me either. Haven't for ages.
Got something funky in your phpinclude template cause that could do it. Amy |
Yea i was thinking this the other day. Very odd.. let me confirm it...
Ok I can't confirm this as i had it turned off hehe - miSt |
Mine works...
perhaps you have a pop-up blocker enabled for your browser? i know i do in camino and safari... just a thought
Even a javascript error pop-up :s?
It's the same as getting an error messgae but just different text ;)? - miSt |
PopUp dosen?t work for me. :(
I can confirm that it's not working as well. I just sent a message to myself from another account and did not receive the pop-up. The index page displayed a javascript error as well, but hasn't shown one any other time.
ok, no one said anything about an error being displayed before i said that, but i know that pop-up blockers will stop a pm pop-up... quite annoying really as you would have clicked on a submit button to actually pop it up anyway... heh
:s I do have a popup blocker, and it's a decent one. But it doesn't seem to effect other vBulletins' popup boxes.
<-- Doesn't have a pop-up blocker and the PM pop-up works fine on other sites. :)
Btw... Just signed on a minute ago and had a new pm in my box. I didn't get a pop-up, but saw a javascript error on the forums index page...
Strange... must investigate...
confirmed here to...
I do have a pop-up blocker, but it dose not effect the pm pop up on my vB or any other I go to. |
Any word on this? Still not working for me either:(
The popup is obsolete now that you already receive the entire text of the PM via e-mail...

I whole-heartedly disagree. The popup is an instant alert that is on this site. It's very useful. Especially when a person goes directly to 'view new posts' instead of checking the site or forumhome. I don't want to rely on checking my email just to see I have a new private message. Not that this is a stupor-important issue, but it's definately not obselete. Relying on email for an instant notification is rather ludicrous, no? Erwin - have you found anymore out about this error? |
pm popup never worked on this site, before or after the hack. Works fine on all other vB's.

I second! And the PM popup worked until a few months ago  |
For PM popup to work, you need to switch Email notification to "off". Then it should work.
It is. Still doesn't work
Mmm... since vB3 is coming out, I won't fix it. :) We'll have to start from scratch with everything here anyway.
That sucks.... I'd hate to have to completely redesign vBulletin.org, soooooooo much stuff....
Oh well, I haven't taken any time to REALLY develop my forum so uhh..... I don't have an excuse to be lazy anymore once vB3 is out:p |
yeah mine stopped working too. The last hack I installed was vBhome. I think that might have done it...
Confirmed as well, and to add to this, I've not recieved any email updates to subscribed threads...but have to pms....
I've been through most of the logic I can figure out on my own, and just can't seem to find why it's not working either, I give up. :) There are quite a few posts about this problem though. Perhaps it's a popular hack everyone posting has in common. Nevertheless, upgrading isn't a viable option for me right now. Maybe someone will find a fix.
It's a built-in feature, actually.
Anyways, it always seems to be working for me :) |
