Pick Random User
This hack lets you pick a random user given a minimum number of posts and by usergroup. This is helpful for forums with raffles and other similar features.

Alright, this is cool, I could use this to make a member of the month now. XD
|
You can use the hack called Member of the Week or Moment or Month to do that, rofl.
|
could this be added into the mod cp, so that mods could do this
|
Just upload the file there.
|
Nice hack. This can eventually be put into alot of other hacks.

Cool :) Thanks.
|
There's no simple way that I know of, but then again it wouldn't be random, now would it?
|
Well I am going to install this nice hack some time soon, time permitting :) The only thing I would not mind seeing also is to add user has posted since a certain date or certain number of days. I know many admin just never delete accounts that are not being used just to have a large number of users :) I remove mine and do not display how many users are registered.

Nice! I was just asked if I could run a give-away for one of my vendors. Can this be set to pick users from a certain thread?
|
I would be very interested in something like that. OR how about members that have posted that month.

I am new to all this side of things, And starting to learn, from the basics
Could someone tell me if this is 100% compatible with Vb3.01 Thanks in advance, |
Could someone alter this hack to make it run in 3.0.0 Release Candidate 4
TIA -Phoenix |
In admincp/index.php find:
THis construct_nav_option($vbphrase['generate_mailing_list'], 'email.php?do=genlist', '<br />'); Under that add this: construct_nav_option($vbphrase['pick_random'],'randomuser.php?', '<br />'); Upload the file randomuser.php to your admincp/ dir -------------------------------- In admincp add a new phrase: Varname - random_user Text - Pick Random User -------------------------------- All done!. Enjoy :) -Pheonix |
Could not get this to work, I am using VB3.0.1
