Did I do the 2.3.0 Upgrade right?

I upgraded from 2.8. All I did was upload the 22 and 23.php file and then followed the steps. I noticed in the directions vbull gives its says to load all your files up? How the heck are you supposed to do that?
We have people that arent receiving any emails, and they are getting errors for passwords.

Forums' URL?

The files provided in your members center you should upload all of them and that should fix your problems - however if you have hacks installed you will lose all of them and have to re-apply them :)

What's the exact download link you're using?

Did you upload all the PHP files, then run the upgradexx.php files?

Jucin 04-10-2003 01:47 AM

I went to where you dl 2.3 and I only uploaded upgrade22.php and upgrade23.php Is that all I am suppose to do?

Erwin 04-10-2003 02:16 AM

No. You need to upload ALL the 2.3.0 files to replace your 2.2.8 files. It's all in the instructions. You WILL lose all your hacks. To keep your hacks, you need to upgrade manually using file compare program.

ok so I literally have to upload the whole folder like I was installing a new board, then run the upgrade files? But wont I loose everything like members and such or will the database still remember it?

Erwin 04-10-2003 06:51 AM

You are only replacing files, not the database. The database is a separate entity.

Chris M 04-10-2003 11:33 AM

The only thing that you should make sure you edit in the new files is the config.php file, if you delete the original...

Without it, you won't be able to connect to the database:)

In an unhacked installation ZIP file, there is no config.php, only config.php.new which will not replace your config.php. :)
