Screw computers!!

Yes..every single one of them. They are not reliable.
I lost everything today, every single thing on the system, including my term papers, exams, labs for university. All gone, stupid Windows XP, stupid everything.

From now on its Pencil/Paper/Small upgrdable notebook, screw desktops, they can all burn in hell.

It just cost me my english, and engineering 1 course stupid pieces of....

AAHHH SO ++++Ed!!!

DrkFusion 04-09-2003 01:42 AM

By the way the system is working, just some indexing system failed, and everything got screwy, and got trashed, and blocked off.

Another thing is...on this comp were original files for my hacks. I am sure one of the beta hackers can send me the files, but weeks of updating, and coding down the drain. SEE ScreenSHOT

There is no data in the folders, and the permissions are screwed..I am so unbelievably ++++ed!!!

Get a Mac. :D

DrkFusion 04-09-2003 02:09 AM

I am a university student, and am not rich :p

Lacrosse Boy 04-09-2003 02:40 AM

Hehe. ;) Macs are good computers, as well as status symbols. Although the eMac does provide incredible bang for the buck, most are WAY expensive.

Boofo 04-09-2003 06:22 AM

Was it just the C drive? Have you tried to look at it with something like badcopy pro? It's worth a shot. ;)

Dean C 04-09-2003 08:29 AM

You should take back-ups with an external drive every day / week ;)

Macs are not that great;)

If you put a protected CD (music CD) into a Mac, it freezes it, and you have to dismantle the drive to get it out again:p

Lol...

Anyway - My dad might know what is wrong with it (other than its a piece of shi* <-- {ship}), and might know how to fix it:)

I'll ask;)

yeah, macs are very good, i always remember the mac of a friend of mine which destroys two important floppys of me....

always remember murphy's law (no not hellsatans ;)): 100% security isn't possible

Tony G 04-09-2003 11:21 AM

I've lost everything I think twice now, but nothing too imporatant that I can't get back with little effort.

Sebastian 04-09-2003 11:26 AM

NT kernal Operating systems don't fail, just hardware... what went the hard disk?
since that is what obviously holds the data.

starbucks 04-09-2003 11:43 AM

sounds as if the permissions are fubar

try creating a new administrator account, as you are the administrator, thats a little wierd

try googling for a nt permission repairing program

wooolF[RM] 04-09-2003 01:12 PM

]heee... 8 years, no loss at all :p
depends how u handle the box you own :)
I'm on pc, f*ck mac :p :D

Razor 04-09-2003 01:49 PM

I back up everything that's really important on CD :D

...and I hate Macs. I have to use them every day in my graphic design 3 class. I prefer my home PC :)

DrkFusion 04-10-2003 12:18 AM

I can't afford to make backups :(
Well there is no way to fix it, I trashed the whole drive, fromated everything and started again, I like this cool new free space :p

Dean C 04-10-2003 11:52 AM

Can't afford to make back-ups!

It cost me ?80 for an external 120GB hardrive. I know you can do graphics and programming so you could get that easily in one job. It's not that much if you save up either ;)

DrkFusion 04-14-2003 02:42 AM

I do have a job, and make more than enough to buy a computer, and a home theater, but studies are coming first, and have alot saved up for post-University reasons. I have everything covered, don't want to screw up. But good news is, I did get a 10 gig hard drive, going to put backups on it :-p of important stuff that is.

Dean C 04-14-2003 09:54 AM

Good good - better to be safe than sorry ;)

DrkFusion 04-14-2003 11:48 PM

I look at it like this - Better be safer* than safe

*If its a real word :p

bharvey42 04-16-2003 08:01 PM

You should try some data recovery software to get It back I have recovered lots of data for people. Works wonders.

zachb 04-17-2003 09:16 AM

What's a good site to buy external hard drives for cheap?

Xenon 04-17-2003 09:27 AM

ebay?

zachb 04-17-2003 11:14 AM

Yeah, I checked there, but I'm looking for a friend who wants to buy one and I'm not sure if he'd want a used one.
