Register.php stopped working
 

I think it has been since I did a new skin and made it default. When a new member joins up, the link in their activation email just goes to a blank page. So a new member can't go through with activation.....I'm at my wits end here....

Hi Xenon and thanks for your response. However, I uploaded a fresh register.php from 2.2.9 files (my board still at 2.2.6) but it made no difference....

Try re-uploading functions.php, then. If that doesn't work then either the templates or some other strange file is wrong.

surely you have to upgrade the whole of the board to 2.2.9 and not just use parts of it?

Well, functions.php is pretty well hacked to death. Off the top of my head, it was largely modded to make way for Teck's vbarchive. Uploading a fresh functions.php just results in a nice:

Yea, but gonna lose some hacks in the 2.3.0 upgrade...:(

vB 2.3.0 uses completely different mail functions, so you can't use individual files. Time to upgrade.

You don't lose hacks - you upgrade using araxis merge to compare the file changes or upload the new files and run the upgradexx.php and then re-apply the hacks :)
