Snow Effects On All Forum Pages

A little late in the season for this ;)


This is a very easy hack to install. It requires 1 template edit and some uploading to the forum root. It creates snow effects on your forum pages. If you wish to add other effects, simply replace the snow graphics with the graphics of your choice. If you replace the graphics, be sure to keep the same file names ;)

Take it easy on me. I'm a little new in the hacking scene. I will release bigger hacks as I learn more ;)

Even though there is java files to be uploaded along with graphics? If so, my appologies.

yes, by definition a hack must edit .php files.

very simple idea, I am sure someone will use it! Although these java scripts do tend to get very annoying :(

Thx for sharing.. :) Since it does not involve any code edits, I moved it to template modifications. If you want it go back to Full Releases, even one line of code editing will do the trick. For instance you can hack global.php and make the hack run in certain days.. :glasses:

Hey that'd be neat. I'd install if it would run automatically only on certain days. (hint, hint)

Heh, it'd be fun to change the falling objects for certain other days too, Halloween ghosts, Thanksgiving foods, Easter eggs, etc.

Probably overkill considering the few days I'd actually want it running. Thanks for the mod though!

Yes.... that'd be really cool. Someone help out by providing a little code for this so Fi_InCogNiTo could make this into a real hack??

I'd install this if I could pre-load it to go automatically for certain occasions..... say, three or four times a year. I'd love to toss around a few Valentine hearts/kisses for my members...... maybe let go a few balloons for each user (only) on his/her birthday.

Write this up with a timer/counter so it would shut the graphics off after three minutes..... and that would cut down the "annoyance factor."

What do you say?

Just having it on the forum home page (only) so they see it when they first come to the site, and nowhere else, would drastically cut down the 'annoyance factor'.

Yes, it would be nice since I don't have the knowledge(yet) to make this do such a thing. Anyone willing to take this over and make it do this is welcome to do so :)

I believe it does shut off after a certain time already. I don't wanna install this again to find out though :p
