Top hackers (in a different way)
 

I realize the problems with attributing "status" to number of hacks released. It's no more a measure of hacking ability than post count is of intelligence.

What if, instead of # of hacks released, the list was based on # of users that have installed your hacks. I think that is a much more accurate measurement of the top hackers, isn't it?

But then there will be the competition of getting hackers to install hacks. The main reason we don't display top hackers is to prevent competition in any way :)

Yes but it's not a competition. I mean you don't see anyone rushing around getting people to click install. Yet you see some people (naming no names) who have flurries of mini-hacks which are practically pointless (if you can say that) or already made. I think that if we promote the installation tallies of hacks or the number of hacks released then we'll see more of this :)

The bolded ones mainly.
Come on, think about it, those bolded ones were pretty useless, you could of put them in one thread, and saved so 4 rows in the thread table.

Mist, please look through all my hacks, and name the ones that are pointless, and I will see to it that they're removed.

I only said correct as a joke my compatriots... The only problem i've had so far with your hacks n9ne is the addon to the mega-points hack. We strictly hold rules about addons now with addons being confined to original threads unless its a store hack...

Sorry but i've heard the 'i only said it as a joke' line one too many times. There's nothing to take up here privately as you took it up publically yourself, and your general attitude towards things has been fairly public. I see no reason in anything being kept hidden in a matter like this.

Why don't you merge your hacks together? I think it would be a lot more efficient, now that you're a moderator as you say...

Well I can see, no proper answer will come out of Mister Mod here, so for the score.

It does not matter, the fact that you said N9ne has pointless load of hack, does infact more so reflect you, and your useless load of hacks, maybe you should of read your list of hacks in your own portfolio before you went and pointed fingers at n9ne.

Again, I can tell you, all of n9ne's hacks are all useful, I can say you have way more pointless hacks than his. I actually think, its great of n9ne to release so many hacks, they at the time help vBers, and he gets to expand his knowledge of php and vB. I have looked through his coding, and I can see he has matured as a coder, and user of vB.org, and I think its wrong of you, even as a mod to criticize n9ne of it.

Also, I am a new user here, and I am not afraid to speak my mind, so I will say it now. I spend my idle time reading old posts, and I still cannot see why you were made mod, you just seem to take the rules even further now, I am sure others may agree with me, and I am not looking for support on this, from what I have read in other posts, and posts on a time line from long time ago, this is what I am now assuming, and questioning.

Maybe I am speaking out of line here, but right now it does not matter, because I can't really understand you acquisition of n9ne.

Just as an addition: These kinds of disputes is another reason why we don't count hacks - it creates pointless arguments like these.
