Who doesnt allow members under 18?
 

Im considering changing the age allowed in my forums :disappointed: We have alot of immature teenaged girls either faking suicides or faking pregnancies and/or their babies dying :paranoid: and some have even stolen pictures and claimed them as their own

Anyone have problems with underaged members?

Tons, but how can you stop them? Credit card verification? A kid will click "Yes I am 18" all day long.

I allow anyone over the age of 13 to reg at my forum. But like overgrow said, they will click the "yes im 18 button" anyway. Thats why porn sites get so much traffic IMO.

If you can find a way to verify via last four digits of credit card number then that would be perfect. I thought your community was "ban-free" though and this would sorta be against it.

I turn coppa off because people lie about their age :)

As for credit card numbers, even partial ones, , I doubt I'd go that far :p

It's required by law that you keep it ON. :)

I have members aged 12-30 on my forums. MOST of them act mature and sensible.

Can anyone post proof of the legal requirements for COPPA? I'm not questioning it, just curious.

I think it applies to any board that is online i.e. It is an Internationally recognised Law...

Anyone over 13 on mine too, I don't think I've seen many under 13's on the net. :p
