Really Big Template Editor
This hack makes the Edit Template/Add Template boxes much bigger than the default sizes. This is best for users with high resolutions (1152x864 or higher) who have the screen real estate that vB doesn't use.
|
Screenshot (I'm running at 1280x1024):
|
wow, that's really a hard to installing hack :D
|
It took more time to open Notepad and type the instructions then take a screenshot than actually finding where to make the code edits :p
|
It makes the textareas for editing/adding templates much bigger than their default 25 rows by 50 columns.
|
loool, i feel a lot of irony in here ^^
|
lmao nice one
|
i really understand why filburt cant guarantee to provide support for this hack.
it's quite complex and support is hard.... |
That's what's supposed to happen :p. Just change ,50,100 to lower dimensions to better fit your screen resolution.
|
help i cant see my templates
|
Then you didn't install it properly. It's impossible for this mod to not make templates show at all.
|
LMAO.
Nice idea. This is probably one of the shortest instruction files I've seen yet. Thx. Dave. PS: I probably wont install it so no point in clicking install. But it's a nice idea. |
Did this on my own forums, never got round to releasing it - nice one Filbert ;)

Interesting hack, filburt1. It's too big a hack so I gave up after reading the first 200 lines of instructions... ;) |
Erwin, please send your license information to me in e-mail to obtain support on these forums. Thank you.

Wait, you have to be licensed to use vB.org ?
Well thanks for letting me in on that secret! |
Erwin, send me money instead. ;)

Send some money to all of us, and you can rest assured that we will put some gifs together that give you a hint of what your forum once looked like.

[high]* Kars10 licks install! ;)[/high] |
Stop screwing around in my thread please, it may be a simple hack but so what?
|
filburt, if we didn't like ya we wouldn't mess with ya. ;) Sorry if you took offense. ;)
|
Nice hack burt
Tech question: How do we check the max resolution our monitor can go to? Regards - miSt |
Right-click Desktop, Properties, Settings, move the slider until you see smoke.
|
Um, good idea, I never actually thought of doing this kind of thing before...lol, will um, install? Even though it's relatively simple :p
|
Omg.... this is really hard to install......
Im getting database errors up the ying yang........ Its to many file edits to.... Can somone make a vb hacker file for it? It may be to much for vb hacker though. :D |
Guys, I'm serious, stop crapping all over my thread. It may shock you that people might actually have questions about this hack.
|
Yes i agree - please stop using this thread as a basis for spamming or comments on how poor this hack is because it is so simple - some people (including myself) will find this useful...
Regards - miSt P.S - fiburt i got big errors when trying to set it to max resolution ;) Does a monitor usually come with documentation on its maximum supportable resolution? - miSt |
It's dependent on the video card and the monitor. Just set it higher and higher until it stops showing an image.
|
lol! This was a good idea. *clicks install* I find it very useful.
And seriously, don't post sarcastic calls for help. It makes it hard to tell who really needs it. I was confused when reading this thread. I then opened the "install file" and OMG. Easiest "hack" ever. But like filburt said, what is easy for one person may be more difficult for another. I'm sure it did take some time to figure out what exactly to edit to change the size of the window too. Good job Filburt. This was very helpful. :) One thing I noticed quickly is that you said this was for monitors with higher resolutions. For anyone who has a lower res, you can try decreasing the number of rows shows (50 by default in the install file). Try maybe 40, or 30. Until it all fits on your screen. ;) EDIT: Whooaa, Filbert's avatar changed right as I posted this. Just thought I would point that out. |
I haven't changed my avatar for at least a week...for that matter this is only my second one here.
|
hey filburt1, thanks a lot.
did some poking around to fix the replacements like this too. thanks. |
Filburt - i kept changing it and the image still showed yet when i changed the resolution to it it gave a big error message on my monitor saying that it was not supported... :(
