Should be reasonably easy to do, too.

N9ne 03-18-2003 02:33 PM

I like what I see, hopefully you make it for vB 3 too ;).

Dean C 03-18-2003 03:36 PM

vB3 has this feature built in :)

Oh I would love one of those for 2.3.0

/me starts to drool.

Well don't expect it immediately because I'm using my iBook to do it and I only use it at school.

Xenon 03-18-2003 07:40 PM

sounds like we'll see the hack tomorrow ;)

Dan 03-18-2003 07:44 PM

/me agrees with Xenon

Ahhh... integrated cron jobs... nice... :)

amykhar 03-18-2003 09:12 PM

It would certainly make life much easier for me. I hate editing the stupid shell scripts to set up new cron jobs.

Anyone have cPanel 6? Their new cron job system in there is very easy to use, it's great :).

filburt1 03-18-2003 09:24 PM

I have it but haven't noticed anything new though. I actually have four crons set up, all of which run custom shell scripts: to back up the database, update my signature here, update the hourly posts graph at WDF's home (it's the bits of lines above the forum listing), and to update the last thread title cache for WDF.

amykhar 03-18-2003 09:26 PM

I'm stuck with Ensim. No cron interfact at all in the control panel. Blech.

Almost done with it. The only possible design flaw is that somebody (not necessarily the same person each time) has to be doing something on your site for the minutely cron jobs to run, unless you add vBCron itself to your real cron list. I've designed it so it should be able to work from vB internally, from cron, and from a browser manually.

Dan 03-19-2003 08:56 PM

Hmm....... since I don't know if I can run cron jobs on my forums I'll just leave my acp open on my home pc and put my screen on lockdown :)
