Private Message Auto-Subject Hack
When someone clicks the pm button on a post to PM the author you need to manually type in a subject. This quickie hack will automatically fill in the subject of the PM with the title of the thread.
I hope someone finds this useful, I do. |
You will need to stick the instructions in a textfile to prevent unlicensed users from gaining access..

Nice simple hack, might be useful for some people but not me, I am fine without it, thanks for releasing it though.

Nice simple hack, good job.

I like this idea so I did something like this but used the quote reply code from newreply.php so it fills in the subject and a quote of the persons post. It might be more than most people need and it hasn't been fully tested. If you wanted the code though, I'd post it for ya.

My bad ... it works! Had to delete the browser cache!

heh nice and simple, just the way i like it ^_^

I posted the directions for the version which quotes the message. It's not this simple, but it's cool. Thanks for the idea. It always bugged me that the pm link didn't fill anything out for you like the quote reply link did.

Wow, I made the most popular list! I feel inspired. I might post one or two more little annoyance fixer-uppers.

It is not working here.. even tried to clear browser cache...
VB 2.3.0 1 thing I notice is in showthread.php the is only one (1) instance of "$postbits = getpostbit($post); " ?? |
Hey nice hack, man.... Can you update to 3.5.2? :p
