[2.3.0 RC] Released.

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...threadid=65126

Just letting you know ;).

Xenon 02-13-2003 05:08 PM

hmm, wierd, i thought the next vb version would be 2.2.10 as this is installed at vbulletin-germany...

2.3 would normally mean a major upgrade because it's one dot in front ;)

N9ne 02-13-2003 05:31 PM

It changes the mail() function to vbmail() or something, so it's easily modified for those running alternate server specifications. So since they changed a function completely, and added a few templates and removed a few templates, they made it 2.3 although personally if they were going to release a 2.3.0 I think it should have some additional features ;).

Rose 02-13-2003 05:33 PM

Quoted from Kier at vb.com "We changed the version number mainly due to the use of the vbmail() function and the change to the useractivation system."

Which is cool because this is what I've been saying it will be and everyone (I've talked to) kept telling me "No, Rose, it will be 2.2.10" So Umph!! :D

Xenon 02-13-2003 05:37 PM

vb-germany uses 2.2.10 :)

pogo 02-13-2003 06:30 PM

We used to use 2.2.10 which was actually 2.3.0. Now we use 2.3.0g. :D

Xenon 02-13-2003 07:26 PM

tststs, you should have stayed unique ;)
would have been a nice Q/A game.
why do you use 2.2.10, where can we get it... ;)

N9ne 02-13-2003 07:35 PM

hehe, since this is the lounge, I can go off topic right? Well, here I go since we're talking about Germany, I'm going to be in Germany next Wednesday for one week, for a german x-change. :D It will be my second time in germany ;).

Xenon 02-13-2003 07:46 PM

Really?
hmm, if you are in bavaria, you should visit me :p ;)

Where do you want to go?

N9ne 02-13-2003 07:51 PM

I am going to be staying in a small town called Hemer. That's where the school is, which my school is exchanging with.

Xenon 02-13-2003 07:56 PM

never heard of it, but as i see in my rout program, it's far far away from the nicest part in germany ^^

Kars10 02-13-2003 08:07 PM

Bavaria rules.... Oans, Zwoar Gsuffa!! :)

Xenon 02-13-2003 08:10 PM

do host recht

Do stimm i glei mit ei: Jolada-Jolada-Joalda-Jolada-Jolada-Di - Juhuu! :)

N9ne 02-13-2003 08:14 PM

[high]* N9ne is confused.
[/high]

ich habe keine katze.

See, i know some german ;). I'll be speaking in English with my xchange student ;).

Ich habe nicht gut noten bekommt in Deutsch.

What that should mean is I have not brought good marks in German, what does it really mean though ? :embarrassed:

Kars10 02-13-2003 08:16 PM

@ N9ne, thats ok.
You mean: Ich haben keine guten Noten in Deutsch bekommen. :)

Xenon 02-13-2003 08:17 PM

@N9ne: you can't understand the posts above, it's bavarian, even the rest of germans have problems with it *eg*

both sentences made sens, but the grammar of the second is wrong :)
i'd suggest to speak german here in germany, it would be a good training.

i'd also speak english when i'm somewhere else :)

N9ne 02-13-2003 08:18 PM

Well Xenon, as you can see, I don't know much German ;). If I were to speak German while in Germany, I wouldn't get very far :D, I would just have to sit in silence, because I really am not a conversationist in German ;).

So it actually must be in Bavaria!

Xenon 02-13-2003 09:01 PM

@N9ne: it's like vb hacking. best way is learning by doing :)
you'll get better very fast :)

@pogo: hmm, if you divide germany in bavaria and rest germany, theny you could say so :P

mr e 02-13-2003 09:44 PM

ich suche meine bohne

ah the fun with german, it sounds like this in english...
eek sucka mina (long 'i') bona (long 'o')

:D

german I is fun :D

deutch classe ist spitze weil mein deustchlehrer ist sehr lustig

N9ne 02-13-2003 09:47 PM

lol, now now now, let's not bring teachers into this ;)...I have this old lady teaching me :(.

mr e 02-13-2003 09:51 PM

lol that sucks, u in german I or II? my teacher ownz all, we watched the little mermaid in german and ariel said sheisse in it, funny as hell :D

Tony G 02-14-2003 09:12 AM

Anything bad seen with the RC version?

LeeCHeSSS 02-14-2003 09:43 AM

Tsk, bringing the thread back on topic eh?

Anyway, I understood the Bavarian lines and I'm Dutch. Hah! :)

Erwin 02-14-2003 09:58 AM

All I know about Bavaria is they supply great cars from the Bavarian Motor Company. :D

Xenon 02-14-2003 10:22 AM

@Erwin: Yes, the BMW is a great car, i don't have one ok, but it is ;)

@Lee: Proove it :D
Translate :p

@mr e: our german teacher was the best, and it's hard in germany to get a good teacher in german lessons...
but i really don't know why you're searching for your bean :D

@Lord: AFAIK none, but it's as always..

LeeCHeSSS 02-14-2003 11:56 AM

Oans, Zwoar Gsuffa!! -> One, Two xxx!!

do host recht -> You are right
af gehds buam, glei noamoi -> xxx

Mia san mia, mia san mia, steaka wia de stia, steaka wia de baam, wei ma echte baian san! --> xxx, because we are real Bavarians

Do stimm i glei mit ei: Jolada-Jolada-Joalda-Jolada-Jolada-Di - Juhuu! --> I agree with that immediatly: (bunch of jodelsounds)

I wont lie and look up the rest. But from the parts I did know, it's obvious this is simple self-propaganda among 2 Bavarians :)

Xenon 02-14-2003 01:29 PM

not bad Danny :)

but "Do stimm i glei mit ei" != "I agree with that immediatly"
Correct it would be: "I'm going to help with that immediately".

it's a bit hard to translate if you don't know the correct english version ;)

but really not bad :)

N9ne 02-14-2003 02:31 PM

My first car is going to be a BMW

mr e 02-14-2003 03:49 PM

@xenon, who wouldn't look for a lost bean?

Dean C 02-14-2003 04:08 PM

N9ne - do you know how much that would cost to have a BMW as your first car. Not only will it cost a lot to buy the car but the insurance will be a bomb. I mean it's ?400 a year to insure a 50CC scooter ;)

Unless you have rich parents then i think you may end up with a little old banger like most college students ;)

I've already started saving + My dad loves driving and he wants me to drive like anything. He's promised that my first car will be very very good, so there's no problem there :D.

Oh, and i'm an only child, no bigger brothers to cater for :p

Erwin 02-15-2003 04:26 AM

mr e 02-15-2003 04:31 AM
