I am looking for a VB developer for my current message board. I am looking for a ?Matrix/ High Tech" type theme with light graphics and some rotating banner ad scripts. I do not wish to pay out of pocket, but to give you referrals and credit for your work at the bottom of my page. My friend gave me a free registered copy of VB so I am waiting for his response. Mist I like to barter and I know that some ppl will work for free but you just have to find them. Also, I will give them free advertising if they do VB development on the side.

I'm not sure what you mean by a 'free registered copy'. If there is more than one version of his copy of vB runnning, then it's illegal.

Hey PAID for like 5 copies and only used 3. Thus he gave me one. I am not an idiot nor am I going to come in here if I am using an illegal copy bro. =]

Trust me no one is going to make you a high tech style for free, but there are some free styles at yaxay.com vbulletintemplates.com and pixeljunction.com

Good, then I suggest you or he go into the Members Area and enter the URL to your forums. As of right now your forum is not showing up in the license database. Once you've entered it, then you'll be completely legal (assuming this license isn't being used elsewhere of course.) :)

Then he didn't GIVE you the board. He is letting you use it. Big difference. Until he gives you the numbers, he can take it back at any time.

He gave me some 8 digit number. If he ever took it back I would simply buy a license. But right now I am covered.

You cannot have the same licensed vB running on 2 forum sites that are live. That is illegal. They need to be 2 separate licenses - your friend cannot just give you his vB copy and number, while running the same vB himself.

Yep, future projects that never amounted to anything. He tried to sell it but I talked him out of it. hehe So does anyone know of any other boards that will be helpful instead of talking about if I have a registered copy or not. I heard you guys were anal but this is ridiculous.

There's quite a few sites dedicated to free styles. But since I'm anal I can't be arsed (get the pun?) to look up the urls.

Just because we want to make sure members are licensed users do not make us anal. We have ways of finding out if you are licensed or not, and initially your account here looked suspicious.

I agree with Erwin - you did sound suspicious. To use such vulgarity you further proved my point. I can't believe you used such words. A few people here are dedicated to this site and enjoy helping other people and for you to call us "anal" is a bit harsh. I'll know not to help you in the future.
