Bad news (I have decided to leave)(My farewell)
 

Well I got my mark averages and I am getting around a B Average (70+) I will be applying for university soon, and with OAC (grade 13) removed from the public education system, competition is going to be tight, before cut-off marks for Uni used to be Mid 75, now they are going to be looking at High 80 averages (85+) and very high marks in particular fields like maths and sciences (90).

I have been really thinking about how I want to live, it seems I have decided that the kind of person I am is, un-motivated person, I need to take that extra step, that means quitting my sites, giving up my vB liscense, stop visiting this place :(

I don't have self-control :( I think I want one of the mods to change my password, and in 8 years when I have a PhD in some engineering field, maybe I will come here and ask that mod to change my pass. My parents always say, there is time to make money later, theres a time for studying, and a time for fun, I seem to be giving up time for studying and other things for internet and my interests.

I have decided that I will change get my friend to change my password, and I am going to transfer my liscense to my friend (if its ok with my best buddy) and just dissappear for awhile.

Suprisingly I have had enough arguments here, but I think I want to end it with my sorry to all, but before I leave some time this month I will reveal 2 presents to this community, 2 presents I have been promising for awhile (vB Links Directory 3.0, and Image Gallery 3.0) this will be something extrodinary, with all I have learned here, I won't let anybody down on these things.

Since I came here I have learnt alot about everything, made great new friends, and I really wish to stay in contact with all of you, I will check on here once in awhile, to see how things are going.

All I can say Arunan is that you are possibly the greatest person alive that I have ever had the pleasure of being a friend to...:cry:

Hey, good job Arunan. I am glad that you are putting the importance of your live ahead of all of this. I know where you are coming from, main reason I put everything on hold or stopped doing it. I myself dont really have time anymore, while it was a good learning experience for me, getting into different fields was even better.. I don't mean to take away from DrkFusion's decision and all.. but does anyone know if he will ever post the 2 hacks he "promised" in his farewell?

Perhaps it is best he didn't - I can't see posting 2 great hacks like that then not having to stick around to answer questions, which would have been exactly what he did not want to do.

However.. I did wait around for the gallery.. then recently shelled out for photopost. (what a mistake that was!)

Anyone know if v3 will have a decent gallery?

What's wrong with Photopost? Been using it for over a year, works great. And no, vB3 won't have an inbuilt gallery. It would have to be an add-on.

Integration with photopost is nice, but nowhere near complete. I have a few of the usual styles (purple, green etc.) and a dark one like this where the text is white on blue... integration of photopost means you then have white text on light background with the darker style.

The program itself is ok. I just think it could go a little farther with vb integration is all. I'm sure eventually it will... or someone will write a fully integrated vb gallery (which was what I was hoping for here)

Support for photopost is sketchy at best (at least in my experience) and you cannot try it, nor can you get a refund if you do'nt like it.

This is all for a different thread though... I just was hoping that gallery 3.0 would have come out.

That's what I call taking charge of your life at a early age young man ... you will succesd, I know this now. It takes alot of courage and confidence to do what you're doing.
