I wnat to create some kind of anonymous forum

I want a forum where my registerd members van post anonymous. So nothing of any user stats are diplayed. Just anonymous. Is this possible?

filburt1 12-15-2002 07:53 PM

Easy: make a forum where guests can post.

Issy_X 12-15-2002 08:18 PM

No, I don't want guest to be able to post. Only my registered members.

WetWired 12-16-2002 04:53 PM

Change the postbit template so that the real info isn't used and instead make it always say anonymous?

Issy_X 12-16-2002 04:57 PM

But I only want it to work on 1 specific subforum. I don't want it to work on all my subforums. Is this possible too?

Xenon 12-16-2002 05:02 PM

create a new style, do what WetWired said and use the style just in this forum..

Issy_X 12-16-2002 05:03 PM

And I have to make a new template set for that new style. And could you please give a little bit more info on editing the templates?

Xenon 12-16-2002 05:07 PM

yes you have to create a new templateset for it

then edit postbit template and delete or replace all userrelevant infos like $post[username] $post[usertitle] and so on...

Issy_X 12-16-2002 05:08 PM

Ok, thanks, I'll try that.

Issy_X 12-16-2002 05:09 PM

O and is it possible to make it so that only admins can see who is the posters and all the other members not.

Xenon 12-16-2002 05:17 PM

if you use the conditional in templates hack by logician than yes it is :)

Issy_X 12-16-2002 05:21 PM

Hmmm I looked that hack up and it seems very complex to me. What kind of condition code do I have to use to accomplish what I want?

Xenon 12-16-2002 05:24 PM

hmm, you should ask logician, i don't know it.
just feel free to ask in his thread :)

perhaps you can achieve the whole thing with his hack, not sure, but worth a try :)

i use my own condition hack for my templates (never released as it was to simple and buggy ;))
