Hacks section idea

Perhaps it might be wise to create a section in the hacks area dedicated to portals and 'home page' software, such as vbporal, vbindex, vbhome, etc..

Well..there isn't really alot of them. They are great where they are....in the Major Addition.

Maybe if you want more general searching...maybe a change to the hacks database to add sub categories.

Subcategories would be a great addition as well. The reason I suggested a section for the portals is because there is such a massive audience for it.

Ok, I've added a category for Portals. :)

I don't think that was good idea :(
Though I do not run the stuff here. There are a massive audience, but its just a waste of valuable page space, subcategories are the way to go :)

I think all hacks should be forced into the DB...instead of giving the hacker the option to put it there. Some people just search the DB and it doesn't have all the hacks...

Hackers are now forced to enter hacks into the DB. Has been so for a month or two.

On database run sites such as this it doesn't waste any page space, or even run on a different page! Notice how
http://www.vbulletin.org/hacks/index...owcat&catid=14
and
http://www.vbulletin.org/hacks/index...howcat&catid=9

Are both part of the same page, http://www.vbulletin.org/hacks/index.php?, although the only difference is the catid variable, which just tells it to pull different records from the database.

Oh, and thanks Firefly :D

I didn't mean it like that, I meant it in away saying it was a waste of time. I know everything about the hacks database ;)

I do agree that its own Category is a bit stupid!:)
