Do any one know of a good HTML editor/developing program?

As the title implies, does any one know a good program for HTML such as macromedia dreamwaever and so forth?

And also, if this post doesnt belong it this forum, could a moderator move it, thank you.

Why don?t use Dreamweaver??
Ive tested many, many Html-Programs.
Now im using Dreamweaver 6.0 MX and i dont want to change it to any other Prog. :)

I agree - Dreamweaver is the best. I'm only using version 4 though. How's 6.0 like?

MX is okay but not great. It has a lot of PHP stuff in it though which is nice.

I personally like Allaire Homesite. I have version 4.5 and it's been great.

I tend to use Frontpage, I only use it as it will lay the code out and indent it all nicely with 2 clicks.

I've never got the hang of Dreamweaver.

He's damn right. Whats the point in using ++++ty programs when you can use notepad, its quick, easy and allows for people with the knowledge to execute anything they want.

Boofo 12-21-2002 02:23 AM

Namo Web Editor 5 is the only one I use for html. Nothing else touches it. I use EditPlus2 for all php code though.

Ember 12-21-2002 02:28 AM

I use Araneae for my PHP editing, and ussually for doing HTML from scratch... but I use notepad for editing stuff once I have the bones set up.

I use Notepad, I mean HTML isn't that hard that you need a prog. to make it. I learned it in 3 weeks in 6th grade, 3 years back. But, if you really want something good, use Dreamweaver. Never use FP2000, it's terrible and the coding is crap. I only use Dreamweaver to make image maps, but I forgot if it does that so I may have no use at all for it....

Dreamweaver MX has Homesite built right in. ;) Macromedia bought out Allaire.

Dreamweaver is the best for all the fancy stuff. But for those using Notepad to mess about with a few lines, you might try using TextPad instead. It comes in handy for minor text edits and I like it much better than Notepad.

Yup, same here..been using it for the last few years.

Logik 01-05-2003 08:52 AM

Dreamweaver is good because it can help people understand PHP good.. They can look at the code..

Ember 01-05-2003 11:02 AM

I hate Dreamweaver and the rest of them... fontpage stuff like that, it makes people think they can design websites... I admit I have been fooled once or twice by dreamweaver sites, but on the whole.. they suck.
