Secret Santa Hack
 

Here's my idea for a Secret Santa Hack.

- Secret Santa sign up deadline is set by admin.
- Once deadline passes, registered members cannot sign up.
- All registered members have to sign up if they wish to participate in Secret Santa for the year.
- Once the deadline passes, the admin clicks on a button/link to randomly generate the secret santa list. List will not be immediately viewable to the admin but the option for the admin to view the list will be available. This is so that the admin can enjoy Secret Santa as well.
- PM's are sent out to all participants automatically once the is generated. The PM's tell participants who they have to buy gifts for.
- Admin can manually remove people who have signed up.

Future Extras/Upgrades:
- A dynamic reminder is created on the main forum page underneath Welcome back Username say you are Secret Santa for so and so....
- Secret Santa hack can be changed for other occasions such as Valentine's Day.
- Hack can be configured so that participants can be Secret Santa for any defined number of people. For example, instead of being Secret Santa for just one person, you are Secret Santa for 2 people. Thus everyone gets two gifts from two different people.
- Admin can manually sign people up after the deadline.

I'm not a programer but I thought this would be a great idea for a hack especially with Christmas comming up.

Seems like a nice idea.

Nice idea, but it sounds like alot of work. So, I hope you dont have your hopes up for getting it before christmas. It would also be cool if this worked with the lesane store hack!

WOw.. this was suggested like 7 years ago and STILL no one has figured this one out.. too bad.. would have been a good one..
