Personal swearword / bad language filter
 

Alright guys,

Would anyone have the skill to be able to code this?

I am thinking along the lines of an option in your profile, which resembles the buddy list. It allows you to add words to that list that you do not wish to see on the vBulletin you are a member of.

I guess the list of features should be like this:

• Ability to add words to a list
• Ability to select whether the words should be blocked in the thread titles, threads or both.
• Ability to chose the charaqcters that replace the blocked word

I have included an image with swear words to show you what I think it should look like.

Does anyone think they could do this, or would anyone else find this useful?

I guess that is a no then!

or u can do a mass swear word filter in the admin cp by adding all teh words you dont want to show to the Censor box in Vbull options.

I know this dont give each member a choice but it also saves a lot of trouble on your board if you got young ones on it.

The reason I want this is that it gives each user the *right* to remove words that they may find offensive.

I don't want to force censorship on anyone.

Is everyone waiting for vB3 to come out...?

i thought this would be very useful and i really need it. i dont know if anyone has made it but here goes:

i want a hack that allows each member to chose which word to be cencored. this way people can curse and the people who dont like to see the cursing can be the ones to see it cencored

i my self dont mind seeing ++++ ++++ ass on my board but some of my members do

Yeah, I would love that, because we're split between people who want it or not, so I choice in the options page would be great, as long as their are universial words that no matter what will be censored, and they would have a random genereator that generate these characters
!@#$%^&*for each curse so it's not all * which looks real gay. It'll be mixed like #$%@ which would be awesome.

I am also very much needing a hack like this... I have users that are young and users that are older and the young ones need censors, but the older ones dont wanna use forums that are censored... :(

Ok I really like the thought of this hack.
It is definately a good idea, but is anyone actually prepared to hack it?

Anyway, I would gladly partake in any part of creating this hack that I could do. I don't really know PHP, but my other co-execs do, but we wouldn't know how to go about this. It'd be more of a "$hack created by $volunteer with help from Stardust Studios" kinda hack, for the egocentric bastard who helps :nervous:
