Is the internet dying?

Anybody else out there having major problems using Internet Explorer?

Myself and a bunch of others I have talked with have had major problems viewing websites and the images not loading. This all started since the worm swept through and attacked the big machines.

Anybody else out there having probs like this?

Everything works well with Netscape though..hmmm..

Mike

YES MY INTARWEB ISN'T WORKING!!!!11111

No, everything's fine :)

I had exactly that problem after installing SP1 for Windows XP, it cocked up a load of other stuff too, so I re-installed XP and theres no problems with images at the moment.

NTLDR: You should've archived the files before installing SP1 and then you could just roll back...

indiamike: I think you just installed SP1 for WinXP, because I had the same problem as you. Just perform a system restore or uninstall SP1...

Hum. I installed the SP pack and had no problems on Windows XP. *shrug*

All the people who have errors, use pirated XP ;)

Erwin 10-29-2002 12:56 AM

I don't think the Internet is dying at all. Things are still improving, and we have not reached the limit of what the web can do yet. There has been concerted attacks to bring the internet down recently (possible terrorist-related?) but the internet appears to still march on. :)

Err terrorist where?

psst Chris lets stop attacking the 'internet'

True, but thats a pointless exercise as SP1 needs to be installed anyway.

Well after the main DNS servers.. I think about 8 of 13 of which where attacked using DOS.

At any rate the internet itself.. or user population has gotten slower and the users that use to come online no longer do or only have those 6-7 sites.

TECK 10-30-2002 10:44 PM

indiamike simply configure the group policies to remove the 20% default bandwidth usage.. if you set it at 5% it will kill in speed.

Or are so fustrated at having so many sites doing the same thing they visit the main one and go some place else...

vBulletin.org --> how many people have started sites like it - or so close that you know they want to be like them???

Personaly - I use this site - ignore the rest -

probaly a lot of good ideas and at them but - 50 registrations... belong to the "Group" ...

I think everyone misunderstood my original question. I was having problems viewings images on IE along with a bunch of others. I was just wondering if other where having the same problems.

It was fixed and was just because of corrupt image.

Mods can close this thread now.
