22 seconds

I dont know if it's a vb bug or vb.org hack bug, but there is something wrong with this thread:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=41934 It's compiled in 22 seconds with 98.93% PHP load. I tried that a few times to make sure it's not a temporary server load increase but it doesn't seem so. Other threads respond fast while this particular one takes more than 20 seconds to be formed everytime I tried... FYI.. |
Mmm... not for me:
Page generated in 0.69476795 seconds (49.70% PHP - 50.30% MySQL) with 26 queries Loaded quite fast actually. |
maybe its because I use 30 posts per page option in my preferences.. It's still same for me:
Page generated in 22.43536103 seconds (99.03% PHP - 0.97% MySQL) with 26 queries. |
I got 22 seconds, also. I'm also using 30 posts per page. Maybe that is it.
|
I've got the deafult posts per page and get around 20-23 seconds for that page.
All I could think of is all the PHP code and linking to all the PHP functions on PHP.net, most likly compleatly wrong but still :D Quote:
|
I'm using 30 posts per page:
Page generated in 0.75780499 seconds (56.33% PHP - 43.67% MySQL) with 26 queries |
15 posts per page:
Page generated in 26.28733802 seconds (98.89% PHP - 1.11% MySQL) with 26 queries |
woa...is the load really that high? since when I view wit default its normal 40% and so on...

Page generated in 20.77196300 seconds (98.83% PHP - 1.17% MySQL) with 26 queries
|
Still only:
Page generated in 0.77020502 seconds (57.76% PHP - 42.24% MySQL) with 26 queries. Maybe you guys aren't doing it right! ;) |
Default posts per page:
Page generated in 0.58425903 seconds (55.96% PHP - 44.04% MySQL) with 26 queries. Nothin' wrong! |
Page generated in 20.83233905 seconds (97.82% PHP - 2.18% MySQL) with 26 queries
|
Trying again using default thread view:
Page generated in 0.61206305 seconds (61.04% PHP - 38.96% MySQL) with 26 queries Mmm... |

Internet Explorer ... Well, KaBoom! :D |
I'm using IE 6.026 and it's working fine for me. :)
|
Yep, same IE ver here Erwin.
Also Default Thread View and Default Posts per Thread both set to Default, dunno what could be wrong though :o |
This other thread from the same forum also takes a long time to generate for me.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=43056 |
all right here.
seems you have to be a mod so everything works right here ;) |
Umm, Im not a mod, and it works perfect for me.

Thats weird NTLDR...
You must have a really bad ISP...Lol... I am using IE6, Windows XP SP1... Satan |
SP1 has screwed my PC, I can't use the add/remove programs anymore. Mind you I hacked the SP1 install first time to try and get it not to install the JVM which wasn't wise
I'm using Blueyonder's Cable service, all other pages tend to load fine which is weird. |
I use Tiscali...
Strange... Satan |
I have NTL 600k Broadband and works fine on IE6 on WinXP.

I (or other people getting the thread in 20 sec.) dont have problems with other threads. In other threads the average number I get is below 0.5 and it's only these 2 particular threads that are compiled in 20 seconds. Also this time does not show in how many seconds the page is loaded into your computer. It's the time the server formed the page, so it's not related to the user-end, it's absolutely server related. The question is this: why the server is acting more intensive for SOME users? |

@Logician...Then why is that error occuring for the majority of users, and not me?
Satan |
Dont know Chris, I dont have access to vb.org scripts to trace the problem.. ;)
But if you want a guess: I would say a hack in showthread.php or getpostbit function in functions.php might be the cause. (If its not a vb bug in the first place) To make sure you have to trace the bug by debugging in the source code. The problem is server sided though, not related to page visitor, although a visitor related thing is apparently triggering it.. |
Indeed...
Perhaps it will slow down for me soon, or speed up for you guys... It could just be something completely random...I suppose you are bound to get a large server load from places like vB.org & vB.com... Satan |
Just to confirm what Logician has said thoughout that its not ISP related, I'm at Uni with a different OS, Net conection and a host of proxies and firewalls and the result is still the same for me:

Then, like Logician suggested, it could be user related...
Perhaps Chen got fed up with some of you;):Dj/k Satan |
Any ideas on whats common to all the users this is happening for?
|
I've tested it today at my Uni logged in and logged out.
no problems, as fast as it should be.. also you all are in the same usergroup, i don't think chen has added an hack so just 4 people would be not as fast ;) maybe some things which are equal for you... same users on buddy/ignore list which appears on this thread. showing images on/off... somewhere must be the problem ;) |
Just had a fiddle and it was what I thought at the start of this thread, the links to PHP Functions, went into the User CP, turned it off and it worked fine:

ahhh, that's it.....
yes i have turned of this feature long ago ;) |
I just checked and it seems to be off for me too, I never even knew it existed, that must be it then :). Good work team, we have just solved the mystery!
