Hi ...

My idea is about a file information system like download section in *nuke system ..
In this system there can be;

- Multiple categories. Also subcats
- File information. Update date, info, name, publisher, download link, file image ...
- rate files
- Custom fields for files maybe also custom fields per cat.
- (maybe) a thread for file. for ex: when u add file under files->avs with a name avp ; it will open a thread for this file under the name avp or [file]avp in specified forum to discuss on the file.

i think this system will provide a real good portal system with the advanced linkblabla hack ..

PS: Thank you guys for ur great hacks and great efforts on this site. Also thank you jelsoft if u are watching here ;)

uhmm i think there is no need a too complex system for a request like that ...

i am currently coding a system which is clone of pafiledb for vb ..
its a little hard :)

currently im making my own code with the ideas and db schemas of pafiledb ...

cat listing ,
sub cat listing ,
file listing ,
file display ,
file display with custom data fields for users are done.

i need to fix sub cat listing template .
all admin actions on queue ..
also file submission by users on queue ..
search db is hard (i think) but i will add it too ..

the functions it will have ;
cat - sub cat thingy ..
search db ..
custom data fields ..
when admin creates a file it will open a thread about it in the userspecified forum for that cat settings.
when a user submit file it will viewable by only admins .. and if they accept it same procedure as admin submission.
file view count and stuff.
clean template.

anymore ? ;)

That sounds pretty damn awesome...

I can't think of anything off the top of the head but this sounds perfect with a lil bit of template editing to become a tutorial system as well ;)

allright status update :

user interferace nearly done ..
all search / browse / browse sub-cats / split to xx page / top files per cat / alphabetical sort / letter sort / file submission is done.

currently fixing bugs of user part ..
and adding some more things ..
also working on template for cleaner and better look ..

next i will go with installer and admin part .
after that i will review the system and database then it will be here for testing ..

uhmm also i need to learn how to post a thread via my admin interface .. date/time operations on vb and admin part coding ..
umm im a lil bit lazy ..

any suggestion on system ?

i need this cause if you set the forum id my script will open a discussion thread about the program in that forum..
