What happend to VB.org?

I sware over that last few months this site has slowed down greatly. Most that hacks out now.. "no offence to anyone" arnt that great. Most of them are Lesane store integrations anyways.. and who the ++++ cares? The activeness of older hackers like myself has somewhat ended... I see spam all over the place and more so here at the The Lounge... people you dont come here and request hacks or temp mods. There are forums for that.

Seriously this is getting old :tired:

Lesane 10-09-2002 02:12 PM

It's getting old to cry about it.

Every hack that's made by anyone is welcome, u don't like the lesane store hack addons then don't bother to open the threads. There are alot of other people that does like the addons. Have some respect for the creator instead of flaming him in the threads.

I thought mr.neo will understand and realise it that alot of people wait for vb3 to release hacks.

btw.. why not changing things around here yourself? Go create some "great and perect" mr.Neo hacks!

If need more release, why not release yourself? I d love to release many as I can but my skills are still in amatuer area so I have to wait until I m good enough cuz of support hack require higher skills than unsupport hack due to fix, iron bugs out blah blah

Lesane have good point :bunny:

lesane indeed has a point :D

Do you have any planned hack releases btw lesane?

I currently have some interesting hacks planned, but I'm so caught in sports and school right now that my hacking time is limited to the weekends.

I do agree with Neo in the point that over the course of the past couple months things have slowed down, but that could be a result to summer ending, and for most people on this forum school (college or high school) has begun.

If you're the type of person complaining about there being no hacks, you should use the time spent complaining instead to make your own! Don't expect most of the hackers at vB.org to be soley responsible for providing you hacks, because we do have lives outside of coding. ^__^

I personally think the hacks made by Lesane and Neo are great, and I have had many sites that have utilized them.

The hacks made be getting "old" but if so, why do people keep reverting back to their use?

Keep up the good work.

I'll create some hacks in a few umm years :S just right now time is so limited, so I don't even have enough time to learn PHP!

As for this place slowing down, doubt it, put it this way, what's left to make? Most things are already available in the 1200 hacks available!

Actually there are still need more..

Like.. world map hack, rpg battle, member area (license) hack, multiplayer game hack, improvised item store, tutorial system, users' comment hack, live action rpg battle, many more... this list of (should have) hacks go on.. I have it on the text and it is not enough around at here. Trust me, we re still need more than before

Edit: Oh be sure to check at Request forums and see appox 80 percent of requests goes unanswer, how can it happen when we dont have enough idea? Actually there are tons of new ideas or incredible ideas but most of all are unanswer.

NTLDR 10-09-2002 10:49 PM

I agree about the posting slowing down on vB.org, in someways its handy as there are less posts to read when I visit, but I agree with Goldknight, there are many requests and hacks that are still to be made, but people either don't have the time or skills to make them.

People are probably waiting for vBulletin 3. When vBulletin 3 comes out, this place will fly into a frenzie

Xenon 10-10-2002 09:03 AM

the part about time is surely the most important one here...
also the problems are not the ideas, but that most admin don't want to add too much hacks to their boards in awaiting vb3.
And it's understandable that noone would code a large request just for fun and free if they won't use it for themselve.

I agree with Josh, when vb3 comes out the hack ammount will arise very fast again, as it was with the release of vb2...

Erwin 10-10-2002 09:34 AM

vB3 has so many features integrated already... it will be a matter of updating hacks that are not already in vB3 from vB2 and making up new ones. :) The bottom line is time - most hack authors have day jobs and are just too busy to write hacks up.

N9ne 10-10-2002 09:29 PM

It's true that requests mostly go unanswered. Put it this way, if it's a useful or good idea, 97% of the time, it will go unanswered or unmade :(

ManagerJosh 10-11-2002 01:19 AM

People will always think of some sort of code hack Erwin. Matter of sitting down and waiting for inspiration.

That's true. :) Getting inspiration, and finding time to write the hack can be different issues though. I have heaps of ideas, but sitting down and coding can take a lot of time, especially debugging the code.

Ahh VB3 once that comes out I am going to leave the VB community for good.

And as for hacks why should I bother giving to the public when in a few cases I have been trashed and I can make $$ doing over projects?
