You are supposed to upload the file to the /admin directory...

on my host i have a directory called /home/cross cross is the admin is this what your talking about. if so this is what i did. i created a file called forum under the home/cross and uploaded everything there

You should have maintained the directory structure...

You should have an Admin Folder in the Forum folder;)

i do. i was extra carefull to maintain the structure. everything is at it should be. but when i try to access it i get a file not found error. when u unzipp vbulletin you have a upload file. on my server this is called forums and all the files are exactly as they are in the upload file only difference is instead of the upload file its called forum

Chris M 10-06-2002 04:57 PM

Hmmm...

Have you made sure that you have uploaded the install.php file?

Satan

pitt2424 10-06-2002 05:07 PM

Chris M 10-06-2002 05:11 PM

Hmmm...

There should be no reason for that to happen:confused:

i thought maybe it was a permissions problem so i opened the permission to the forum file wide open still no good. i have no idea whats goin on

Chris M 10-06-2002 05:26 PM

Hmmm...

If you want, I could take a look at it for you:)

PM me about it if you would like me to...

pitt2424 10-06-2002 05:29 PM

ok just did

Chris M 10-06-2002 05:47 PM

Right...

You uploaded all your files correctly, except for one thing...

You created the /forum/ folder outside of the /public_html/ folder...

I copied the files to the /public_html/ folder...

Now they will work:)
