I keep gettin my forum broken into :(

Ok,

Heres the deal/story.

This guy with a rival site, is pretty smart. He helped setup my site a while back before his own. Since then, My board was crashed 2x's with eveything deleted, even my mysql database was deleted once. So i was hacked, my server wouldn't help really they said nothin went wrong.

So now, i changed all my user/passes, again, last night someoen logs into as my name, deletes a post about him and deletes all my pm's that were important. I was in palo alto on the road this whole time. My 2 admins were both gone and are my best friends, adults, not kids. This kid is 16, he is a snaughty brat.

How can I protect my board, my IP's havent' changed either, its really weird, could he have deleted the ip he logged in as? What would you do or should I DO ?

Thanks guys,

JC

Setup a .htaccess file:)

You have 2 more admins? there passwords can be a security risk, as it was said, better to add .hataccess to protect /admin folder, even /mod...

demo, http://forums.gfxart.net/admin/

see, asks for username/pass to access the folder...

Also make sure you have the latest version of vB installed and have and that you arn't running in debug mode. Note if this person setup the board for you and you haven't changed any of the code he could have set-up a backdoor into your vB.

If you suspect something like that, get someone who knows vB well to take a look over your site, or better yet, install a fresh vBulletin board yourself;)

Always run the latest version of vB. :) And trust no one with your FTP and MySql passwords.
