Login AutoFocus
This is more like a snippet, then a code hack... :)
But I love it because I use it everywhere I need to put a focus on a script field. What this mini hack do? It automatically focus a field you designate, so it's saving you (or your users) an extra click. I personally use it when I login onto my Admin CP, while posting a new thread, new reply... well you get the idea. In the install file, I included the autofocus to Admin CP. ESTIMATED INSTALL TIME: 30 seconds REQUESTED BY: (nobody) TESTED IN VERSION: 2.2.7 To download the latest version of this hack, click below: |
Ahhh well, a screenshot to... :)

Thanks. |

|

|
ZiRu$, when you go login onto your admin CP, you see the login fields? well in order to type your nick you have to click on the field with the mouse.
the hack does it for you, it focus the field so you don't have to click onto it... only to type directly, your nick... |
thx for your work, nice addition!

Zirus i believe that it automatically places the cursor where you want it to appear right off the back... at least it seems that way... but i could be wrong :p regards... thanks for sharing TECK... maybe it'll be useful to me in the future ;)

It automatically inserts the cursor into the username field on startup. Has the same effect of the Tab button.
|
ty g-force... every time you start a new thread or reply, you have to click on the title field or message to answer. this hack will do it for you so you save a click. users will love that, especially the ones who use alot the quick reply box. :)
you just start typing while you view the post.. you know for sure it will be already included in the box, so there is no need to scroll up and down to read more... |

There are not many places to use this code, so if you don't mind Teck would you make a few replacement-codes? I really don't know how to do this, i'm not a vb hacker u see. ;)
|

good work |
this is cool :D

Nice idea, personally I hate auto-focusing fields, they allways seem to change the focus when I'm trying else where ;)

I don't know why anyone would not use this tool myself!
If you go to a lot of sites that require you to login, then this is the tool you neeed ... you don't need to auto-focus on nothin. It fills in you data "AND" submits the form for you! And you can configure this app to fill in all types of form designed blocks (Pro version, for a nominal fee). Heck, I advertise their site on my intranet forum pages! Once you get the hang of this tool, you will never browse the internet without it! |
Rolodex, how do I keep it from popping up when I am in the vBulletin Option Menu? It pops up there all the time and if I tell it not at this site, then it won't pop up for the Admin Login, anymore. Any way around that? (I have the Pro version and it is worth every penny. :))
|
whaen you come to a page that it pops up and you don't want to insert anything ... click "Never" ... the downside to this is that from now on, you have to right click on the site pages you want to enter your login info, and select the login name you want it to fill in the data.
I know they are trying to fix this at the moment but this is the temporary fix for now! ;) |
I tried doing it that way for the vbulletin options once and it was too much trouble to have to right click the site all of the time when I was used to it coming up automatically. I'll just put up with it for now, I guess. :) Great program though! :) They just released 5.02.

I'm having trouble getting this to work with the reply. I got it to work in the field for a new thread since that should be auto focused in the title/subject line, but for a reply I can't seem to get it to auto focus on the actual message area.
Can somebody please help me get the message area to be focused? Thanks for any help you can provide. |
