Wtf!!

wow I joined a forum http://www.otaku-haven.com/forum and I post my link to my site. they ALL got REALLY pissed at me and all started swearing at me changed my username to ilikecock and all told me to die now isnt that great of them and to top it off I got IP banned out of the whole deal as well. I dont think they a happy bunch.

[D]Vincent 08-29-2002 01:28 AM

lmao talk about overreacting to something so simple, I wonder how they got so many memebrs with that attitude.

Mystic Gohan 08-29-2002 01:32 AM

tell me about it that is what I thought as well

DrkFusion 08-29-2002 02:01 AM

They used to have hentai section..lol thats how they got alot of members,

Mystic Gohan 08-29-2002 02:05 AM

DrkFusion 08-29-2002 02:07 AM

I don't mean to sound like an ass but to some extent I have to agree with their decision. Maybe they were a little extreme by changing your name but you have to agree that you "advertised" on their forum. Not only that, it was your first post, and you posted a link to your site. I wouldn't be surprised if they got angry at you, as one would think your sole purpose of going there is to gain more hits for your own site.

Another thing, you posted in their General Chaos forum, this is the forum they have for "anything goes" so you'd have to expect a certain extent of bashing ;)

Personally I partly agree with their decisions.

Mystic Gohan 08-29-2002 08:54 PM

why you agree with that I did plan to post there more then that one but there isnt a links area like on some places I go there is a place for you to advertise example Mine, KissDBZ, PGamers(sorry Guichi if you didnt want me to post about PGamers),umm a few others as well. BUT I dont understand I mean a warning sayin dont do that again would have been ok but IP banning me changing my name and them all bein a complete ass to me.

Scott MacVicar 08-29-2002 09:11 PM

I'm banned from pgamers because I couldnt control my members like V85 and shiny :(

Neo 08-30-2002 12:41 AM

LOL @ MG : thats what you get for posting a thead called (Join my Forum!!!) people really hate when you do that.

Goldknight 08-30-2002 03:12 AM

The rock and Neo is right about that but it is inappropriate for ANYONE to say these to anyone anyway. Thanks god I spend alots of time on sitepointforums.com... they know how to treat members properly..

*feel warm at sitepointforums.com* ahhh...

Sweet Cheeks 08-30-2002 05:59 AM

Yes sitepoint rocks :rambo:

I can't believe they would change your username to ilikecock How immature

futureal 08-30-2002 06:25 AM

Otaku Haven is a rather tight-knit community; they generally attack the members of my anime site whenever they find the time (haha). Unless you want serious debate and have iron skin, I would avoid it.... some of the people there are quite friendly, though, once you get to know them.

Still, though, I think that most forums would have a similar reaction to a "Come join my site!" ad. It's not exactly the kind of thing you want to see, especially in a user's first post...

N9ne 08-30-2002 09:42 AM

Another lesson: this is the internet, get used to it, be prepared fort his kind of thing.

Once you let something someone says to you get to you and affect you, they will know it's causing you problems and will do it more and more.

Neo 08-30-2002 12:56 PM

Word. I get it all the time.. but now I have mastered the forum.

I am a forum terrorist

;)

DrkFusion 08-30-2002 01:50 PM

I need to learn that lesson :(

I get pissed easily...ask my "real" friends, one person talks ++++ bout me...*punch*...*kick*...*curse*...*knife*......... ...*cuffs*...*jail*....bail lol

j/k about the cuffs, jail and bail ;)

Too bad these net dudes don't live close to me :( I would ++++in screw there ++++in face up if they talk too much

N9ne 08-30-2002 02:17 PM

Well you gotta get used to it m8 ;)

I'm normally the one who causes it to happen, not the one who suffers from it.

What's the point being the little kid in the yard with the big bad dog when you can be the big bad dog?

PGamers used to be my home on the net. I thought it was so kool. I used to go there every day and post and post I even had like 1400 posts there. But shiny is SO FRICKIN GAY every place he goes he gets banned examples mine, KissDBZ, PGamers, ect.

P.S. That sucks that you got banned from there though heh tell Guichi its not your fault

Mystic Gohan 09-01-2002 06:49 AM

sorry for the double post but V85 sounds familar. I think I was on a forum with him maybe eh who knows.

Scott MacVicar 09-01-2002 05:17 PM

I run an anime site formerly known as PPN now known as TAN :) was home of most rom hackers

futureal 09-01-2002 07:23 PM

Hooray for anime sites!

I made mine for fun -- I just happened to go to Planet Namek a couple days before it was shut down, so I said "what the heck" and picked up a domain name that night, and then lifted the layout from my R/C site, plopped it into a new color scheme and opened the site. A few people liked the look and spread the word, and now the forums are going nuts.

Now if only I had the time to put some content on there... :)

I will have to add PPN's site to my links page, looks good!

DrkFusion 09-01-2002 08:32 PM

Its funney that you can seperate the not soo developed anime sites from the well managed ones.

All the anime site owners on vb.org have well managed ones, maybe because of vb :-D

Not sure, but others whom I have seen use phpbb, and invboard and the rest, have poorly designed, not much content, bad management system, and a very small member-base.

PennylessZ28 09-02-2002 03:02 PM

GO through there member list and noticed that all the I AM A FAGOT and I LIKE POP and etc are all banned members, how mature

Lanigironu 09-19-2002 08:29 PM

You brought it upon yourself. Should've known better than to come and start whoring your link. We don't care about your site, and we really don't care if you are there or not.

HR3rdGen, those were all spammers and +++++++s that tried avoiding their ban. It's not like we spend our time editing people's usernames.

Why do we have so many members? Simple. We don't put up with any ++++ like that.

Lanigironu 09-19-2002 08:30 PM

Oh yeah, isn't this the wrong forum?

Its been mentioned -_-

Lanigironu 09-19-2002 08:46 PM

I didn't bother reading all posts.

LuckyK02 09-19-2002 09:03 PM

Link +++++s are not appreciated. Deal with it, or go cry to someone who cares.

LuckyK02 09-19-2002 09:06 PM

Also, your user name was only changed because our board wouldn't let the person who banned you do so until it was changed.

DrkFusion 09-19-2002 09:13 PM

He clearly didn't know you had some set of rules against it nor did he know the members at the board would of reacted the way they did.

Just drop it. If any of my members acted like that to newbies I would bann my members not the one who comes and posts a link, natually my members are not like that they would possibly tell him it was wrong, and the mod would kindly delete the thread in the background.

Still it was a clear mistake maybe asking him to not post url's where he did, or something.

Im not judging anything of you or your board, just saying it would of been nice, and would of showed that your board has mature people that could handle something.

Lanigironu 09-19-2002 11:06 PM

It's just that we know from experience that anybody that +++++s their link in their first post is not going to be a very contributing member.

The reason we are not dropping it is because it's good advertisement. :p

Lanigironu 09-19-2002 11:06 PM

Man, synonym of "prostitute" is censored?

DrkFusion 09-20-2002 02:40 AM

Well not really, I doubt its good advertisement, becauase people will see this board as a group of immature stuck up brats that don't like people posting links for whatever reason.

But then again you are right first impressions last a life time.

Anyways
regards
-Arunan

Lanigironu 09-20-2002 02:59 AM

There is no such thing as bad publicity.

Anybody who is too shallow to take other people's words (espescially of those that were made by a banned member) is not welcomed there anyways.

If only to see what this is all about, people will click on the link, and some will register.

DrkFusion 09-20-2002 03:29 AM

Sure someone might click te link

Publicity has 2 available roads, the good reputation, understandable and reliable one, and the immature, poorly-managed after-rep.

They will click, see what a poor managed community it is with the majority of the user-base acting like children of 10, whom are worried about people from there community going to someone elses.

Anyways I can see Im getting no where with this nor are you getting anywhere with this with me so I will just quietly standdown and let you do whatever you want.

Lanigironu 09-20-2002 07:39 PM

Did you even bother checking it out before insulting it? You obviously don't seem to know what you are talking about. Are you sure you clicked the right link?

Actually there are some big debates, OH is not a place to be treaded lightly. Not everywhere is kind and friendly, over there people generally are swift to act and it's not easy to shake an image. However I do know that OH actually has a good deal of intelligent posters that make meaningful topics.

If you'd actually take a look at some of them then perhaps you'd see that. I host OH and have been a part of their community for over a year. While some members may act like ten year olds that's only a few of them. I know OH, and although it's harsh, it's definitely not immature.

As well I should note OH DOES have a web development forum, which is the proper place to link-whore.

DrkFusion 09-20-2002 10:12 PM

Im actually a meber there. Im not even sure why I joined, it was awhile back, not sure if I remember my name anymore lol.

And Yes I have clicked your link.
If you can read, you would notice I wasn't applying anything straight to your site, so just nod and agree :)

Fallout2man 09-20-2002 10:57 PM

It seemed to be incinuated by your post that it was what you meant.
