vB too pricey?

How many of you this that paying 160$ too pricey for a forum

LDeer 08-14-2002 08:44 AM

Does the vB team pay for their own forums?

Neo 08-14-2002 09:20 AM

No. Its a good price for what you get. A year free of updates and access to 100s of hacks aswell as trouble shooting... but I sware I saw this thread already posted...

LDeer: They develope it.. what do you think?

Erwin 08-14-2002 10:23 AM

That's less than $20 a month for the best forum software... I think it's cheap compared to a lot of other software out there.

[D]Vincent 08-14-2002 10:45 AM

My friend bought it so it doesn't matter much to me, I'm paying for the site though so it evens out... in the long run it doesn't though :ermm: lol

Neo 08-15-2002 12:37 AM

Thats it Loo I am going to swith to OT I cannot take the price of this forum anymore >:(

Attrox 08-15-2002 11:43 PM

If your serious about your site and message board, you should be willing to pay $160 for a script as good as vBulletin. And I personally think it is worth every penny. :)

TECK 08-16-2002 06:25 PM

did you know that some companies charge $800 for their software?
VB is extremly cheap for a professional piece of software. if you think some "free" boards are better, think again. dont get fooled by the nice graphs.. is a known issue most of free boards got inspired from vB, who truly pioneered the bulletin boards concept of interactivity and reliability.
great tech support also. period.

I payed the 160 bucks one :D good price I must say ;) and only 30 bucks per year :D

MrLister 08-17-2002 07:27 AM

vB's prices are great! Highly inexpensive.

freeshares1 08-17-2002 07:40 AM

VB licenses are VERY CHEAP, considering the great support you get and what can be done with it.

Reeve of shinra 08-18-2002 08:09 PM

the renewal fee's are great if you own a non-expiring liscence.

kaost451 08-20-2002 11:33 PM

I don't think it is too expensive, sure, being webmaster you have a lot of expensize to cover, but really you cannot cut your budget on the community aspect, they are the ones who always visit your site. Your most money comes from your regulars.
