looking for a "Users recent posts" hack
1 Attachment(s)
I want to put a link next to my logged in user's names on the forums index page that would link to a search page listing their recent posts. I have ran a couple of searches and not found one. Help?
Want it to come up with info such as this (my user name for example) http://www.xtremepccentral.com/vbfor...duser&userid=1 So in short there would be a link at the top of the forum that looked like this that did the search I listed above. instead of the normal "view new posts" which searches for posts since the users last visit (or better yet have both links :) ) |

NeverMind I got figured it out...
Basically edit your forum home template / forumhome and at around line 23 change Quote:

That doesn't work for me. :) How far back is it supposed to go?

Durring my testing on 2 different boards (2.2.2 and 2.2.6) it is able to actually go back to the start of both of my boards (a bit over 8 months for one and 4 months for the other)
When you say it's not working for you is it not doing anything or what? |
It keeps giving me the "try some different terms" error.

Other hacks in use? what happens when you try a straight forward search such as http://www.yourdomain.com/forums/sea...duser&userid=1 ? (substitute the user ID for whoever's ID you want to try but #1 is usually the board admin)

When I try it like you suggested here, it works fine. Are you sure this is the line you are using? (I'm just asking since it works with it the other way. :))
<a href="search.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=finduser&userid=$userid"> Or should it be this? <a href="search.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=finduser&userid=$userinfo[userid]"> Quote:

I figured it out. I am putting it in the forumhome_welcometext template which is called in the forumhome template. If I put it in the forumhome template, it works. It won't work when I put it in the forumhome_welcometext template. And ideas how to make it work there? :)

Sorry I dont off the top of my head but I will snoop around on my beta board and see if I can come up with something...
But you should have told me earlier that you were trying to put it elsewhere as I did list where the hack was to be done Quote:

Basically it IS in the forumhome template. The welcometext template is in the forumhome template. But Xenon helped me figure it out. I had to use bbuserinfo[userid] instead of userid. Sorry I troubled you with the "running around". :)
