Thread Reply Subject!

ok, what I am looking for is, like, say if a person replies to a thread, "HE CANNOT HAVE HIS OWN TITLE" every post in that thread has the same title as the first post.. so for example this is the first posts Subject

1st Post "Thread Reply Subject!"
The second posts subject should look like this
2nd Post" Re: Thread Reply Subject!"

and it goes on for all the posts in the thread.. even if ppl use Quick Reply Box.. :squareeyed:

Hmmm...

What exactly do you mean? I dont understand...

Satan

Xenon 07-24-2002 09:25 PM

i don't know if it works with quick reply hack, because i haven't installed it
ash over my head

but it sould work for the normal reply:

open newreply.php find
PHP Code:

$DB_site->query("INSERT INTO post (postid,threadid,title,username,userid,dateline,attachmentid,pagetext,allowsmilie,showsignature,ipaddress,iconid,visible) VALUES (NULL,'$threadid','".addslashes(htmlspecialchars($title))."','".addslashes($postusername)."','$bbuserinfo[userid]','".time()."','$attachmentid','".addslashes($message)."','$allowsmilie','$signature','$ipaddress','$iconid','$visible')");

replace it with:
PHP Code:

$DB_site->query("INSERT INTO post (postid,threadid,title,username,userid,dateline,attachmentid,pagetext,allowsmilie,showsignature,ipaddress,iconid,visible) VALUES (NULL,'$threadid','Re: ".$threadinfo[title]."','".addslashes($postusername)."','$bbuserinfo[userid]','".time()."','$attachmentid','".addslashes($message)."','$allowsmilie','$signature','$ipaddress','$iconid','$visible')");

not tested but should work

Webmasta XT 07-24-2002 09:33 PM

it doesn't work at all...
Code:

Parse error: parse error in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/newreply.php on line 282
:surprised:

Webmasta XT 07-24-2002 09:35 PM

what I mean is, all the posts in a thread, should have the same subject.. if the first posts subject is "Hello World" the second and the other posts subject should be "Re: Hello World"

Xenon 07-24-2002 09:38 PM

try it again i've just forgot an $ before threadinfo[title] ;)

Webmasta XT 07-24-2002 09:51 PM

yes it works..

Webmasta XT 07-24-2002 09:53 PM

both with Quick Reply and normal..

Webmasta XT 07-24-2002 10:02 PM

sorry Webmasta XT didn't see what you had meant before :) but now i see...

find this code:

PHP Code:

'Re: ".$threadinfo[title]."'

and replace with:

PHP Code:

'Re: ".'".addslashes(htmlspecialchars($threadinfo[title]))."'."'

see if that solves your prob man :) regards...

Xyphen 01-02-2003 12:14 AM

OK, I did this, and it doesn't work, g-force when i used ur addon, it didn't work -_-

Boofo 01-02-2003 02:15 AM

It doesn't like apostrophes and such. Do this and it will work. I just tested it. I had the same problem with one of my threads. :)

Find:

Code:

'Re: ".$threadinfo[title]."'
and replace it with this:

Code:

'Re: ".addslashes(htmlspecialchars($threadinfo[title]))."'
You were close g-force2k2, but no cigar this time. ;)
