Show Signatures Per Forum

<font size="3">Show Signatures Per Forum v1.1</font>
I feel a presence of a new vBulletin v3.0 feature, hm?
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=
This hack was originated from an idea to hide signatures within a Roleplaying format forum. I then figured out that there is no such option to hide signatures within a specific forum, and decided to create it on my own. I know it's not much, but it could help some people, as it did myself.

got a screenshot?

afterlab 07-14-2002 04:51 PM

Well I can't show it working, because this hack in it's "working form" is to show the signatures. Actually, let me rephrase that, I can, but everyone knows what a blank space looks like.

Then show the admin options panel to set this :)

RDX1 07-14-2002 05:28 PM

shovel 07-18-2002 06:21 PM

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; No. He is just a religious person. Lol. Good job afterlab. Will I be expecting this on FFRepublic?

afterlab 07-21-2002 12:37 AM

Back,

Schorsch - Well, I went Whitewater Rafting, Hiking, Rope Climbing, and most importantly, got closer to my fellow god above the lands.

Crater Seraph - Already been on FFR. Used in the Roleplaying Terminal and FFR ORPG. :D

shovel 07-22-2002 12:43 AM

Sorry afterlab. Never go into those forums. Lol. Thanks for answering though.

dxb 07-22-2002 05:11 AM

Dalius 07-29-2002 12:10 AM

Thanks man!

Chris M 07-29-2002 08:59 AM

Can Admins Override this?

I.e. - I can set Signatures off for a certain forum, but Admins can still use them?

Satan

afterlab 07-29-2002 01:35 PM

Not at the moment, but if you'd like I can make it an extra add-on to this hack.

Chris M 07-29-2002 01:50 PM

Yes please...

I would still like to be able to use my Signature, but disable them for normal members...That way reducing bandwidth:)

Satan

afterlab 07-30-2002 03:30 AM

Ok, I will get onto working with it tomorrow morning.

Point Blank 07-30-2002 03:35 AM

Nice hack. Can't wait until it is released.

edit: i'm an idiot today, i wasn't paying attention :-x

Storm 08-02-2002 10:26 PM

I made a very similar hack for my forum last night that does the same thing, I should've looked here, I could've saved some work :D

Doubledoom 02-25-2003 05:53 PM

This is an excellent hack for those that have portals which are fed from specific forums.

This allows you to select off for the portal linked forums but on for the rest.

Just what i was looking for and working on 2.3.0. Thank you

Silenced Soul 02-25-2003 09:04 PM

made this same thing awhile back, about a 2 months before you released, but, just switched sites, and computers, and lost the code, found this and it's much better ;D. Thanks afterlab.

/me clicks install

Doubledoom 03-01-2003 09:06 AM

OK, it installs easy enough and code verified but it doesnt seem to be working on 2.3.0 RC3 after all.

No error messages or anything but sigs continue to be shown.

Boofo 04-03-2003 02:05 PM

Isn't this line:

PHP Code:

  makeyesnocode("Allow Signatures in posts","showsignatures","$forum[showsignatures]");

actually supposed to be this?

PHP Code:

  makeyesnocode("Allow Signatures in posts","showsignatures",$forum[showsignatures]);

The quotes around the $forum[showsignatures] aren't supposed to be there, are they?

Oblivion Knight 07-17-2003 08:37 AM

Excellent stuff afterlab :)

Only just stumbled across this little mod, and my RP moderators were asking me to turn off the signatures for our RP forum only last night, and I too noticed the lack of such a feature.

Judging by the code above and below it, I'd say you're right..
I removed the quotes and the mod is working with no problems at all.
