A very simple yet useful hack in my opinion i'll probably use it myself... thanks for the idea Danny :)

What does this hack do?

It simply allows you to limit new members from sending PMs using the private message system until they reach a certain amount of posts :)
Certainly a useful hack especially for those new members who join just to mass pm advertise your members ;)
Options are configured in the Admin CP under the pm settings :D

well its isn't programmed into the hack squawell... but it is possible if you really need it i can do a modification to the hack for you ;)

i dont really see the point in that, i mean wouldn't a person who you think should become moderator or something have posted quite a bit anyway?

Yeah no prob squawell :) Here is... its now based upon usergroups instead of globally ;) just be sure to test it for me :p if you have any problems just let me know apply the changes and that should be it :D

anyway users with less than 10 posts cannot receive or see the PM system at all?

Vertex they can recieve and view PMs they just can't send any ;) more or less to me its a good think to prevent users who sign up just to advertise :)

Where are the "setting values" found that need editing that you talk about in the queries to run in step one?

if you're talking about just doing a clean install then you have to just run those queries and thats should do the trick... if you're talking about editing them manually they can be found in the vbulletin options... under the pms listing i believe :) hope that helps...

No I think my problem is that I don't know how to run a query to get that first step completed when installing this hack :(

nhlrat there's a query runner hack by Fire Fly... just view the forum leaders and then his profile and you can run them via admin cp panel... hope that helps... if you need any other assistance just ask about it...
