Grand Theft Auto 3
 

Anyone bought it already? I'm getting it as soon as it arrives here. Been waiting for it for soooo long!

And I can't even play GTA2 (aka "The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be") in the mean time since it doesn't work on Windows 2000 / XP. I rarely play it nowadays. :(

Can't wait! I've seen screenshots on the net and it's a totally new game. Not sure if it's good or bad, but I NEED IT already!

I'm about to dig out my old computer and install Windows 98 on it just so I can play 2... :p

Ive got it on PS2, which in my opinion, works more smoothly than on the PC...

GTA3 on the PC .... i haven't tried it yet..

on the PS2 .. it kicks any other games ass...

but its so damn hard to complete !

I have it for the PC.

I'm using Windows XP, you'll have to run the updates in order for fix the XP/GTA3 problems... but other than that, its been smooth sailing... :)

I'm already on the 3rd Island... hehe about 5 missions until I beat the game...

i perfer the ps2 verson because on the contraller, i find using the keyboard akward for that sort of game.

o btw chen, when your riding around, pick up a hoe and take them to a nice dark place, one of the games best fetures ;)

I have a PS to PC controller adapter. It helps a lot...

I was using the keyboard before to play, but my hands kept on cramping up.

And yes, you can pick up a prosti, and get your groove on... the car starts to bounce and squeak. lol

don't forget to kill the hoe and get your (and maybe more) money back ;)

I have played it for the PS2, but not for the computer. There are going to be plenty of mods for the computer version though, there is a website (will have to find it) that will be making cars, people, costumes, and more for the game. I am not sure about the one for the computer, but the PS2 version was pretty easy to beat (although I would think the difficulty levels would be the same), I had it beat within a 3-4 days of me getting it.

My PS2 was on for the longest time though, the first day I bought GTA3 I did not buy a memory card, so I just left the game running. That was probably not the best idea in the world but I hated to have to start over.

GTA3 for PC kicks PS2 straight in the groin :-)

quality of the graphics is simply stunning, car control with keyboard is sublime and using the mouse to control your character when "on foot" is very easy!

kick ass game, and sure worth your $$$

GTA isn't really a game you *want* to complete, unlike 1PS. I've finished GTA 2 more times than I can remember (when it was still working :mad:), but it's always fun to play.

BTW, is there anything above the army in GTA 3?

no, but the fbi will come after you, and the army as a asortment of tanks and covered long bed trucks, that said, when they are after you, find a place to hide and kill them all :)

i played GTA3 for PS2 (friends machine) twice for arround 20 mins each, the first time iplaye dit i was hooked, i thought it was some lame racing game

and i bought it for pc - i have been addicted ever since, even tho i have a problem where the mission breifinged speed up real fast

Well I went to the store but they didn't have it, they said they should get it in the next couple of days. So I bought SoF II just so I don't feel like I wasted some time... ;)

get red alert 2... thats the best game ever... i have played on that game for dayz and dayz and dayz...

however when i switched to a 2ghz machine with winxp for some odd reason the loading of the game takes AGES...

My friend got SoF II the other day, I'll have to try that out....

As for GTA3.... awesome game.... but not ported to PC that well in my opinion.....

Already had to download a DirectX 8 "fix" (not in windows update) and my joystick dosn't work properly, but other than that...... theres nothing like pimpin' hoes in a tank ;)

Firefly, GTA2 runs great on Win2000 for me...single and multiplayer

As for GTA3, it is a damn good game :D But it requires a lot of power to run smoothly, maybe they'll bring a out a patch for that

ya it for XP the patch.....well i got GTA3 PC and its good........jus work bit slow on my PC......BTW the handling of cars is WAY better then PS2 ;)

I have gta3 for PC. Im running on XP, but unfortunatly it wont load my saved games... it just freezes. So, Im discouraged from playing :(

Hey DWZ, what OS are you using? I brought my version back to the store, but they would only let me exchange it, even after exchanging it didnt work -.-

I'm running Windows XP.

When I first tried to run it, it would just freeze when you opened the program, it just had the picture of the "R" logo.

But I downloaded the fix of the Microsoft website and it's working fine :)

I bought the game 2 days ago, the game is great. I'm addicted ;)

I play gta3 on Win2000.

if u cant get saves to work i have a fixed .exe of it that should fix your prob.........but it is about 3mb too big to upload :(
