Username Font Color Hack(in postbit)
As requested [ Here ]
Latest Attachment [ Here ] Fine my bad... if it was made whats the url to the hack? From now on i'll just keep to myself and not help requests... so much negativity... if thats how you want this community to be then fine... See Lucrecia's file attached below for info on glow... g-force2k2 |
Sounds great, I'll have to give it a try. Anyway to make it so a user can only choose specified colors by the admin, like I would allow only colors that would not blend in with certain styles.
|
hmm... im sure its possible Velocd i'll have to look into something of the sort ;) shouldn't be too hard though... just i'd think more editing of files/templates :p

Heh, sorry for double posting, but I noticed your hack is in .php format yet the content inside isn't PHP code, you probably might want to change it to a regular text document ^_^
|
yeah i know Velocd but i don't think that it really matters ;) i write text files up in .php formats thought it includes no php doesn't really cause any harm i doubt... still learning anyways ;)
g-force2k2 |
this was already made....
|
not to my knowledge... sure you can alter all user colors but this lets the users choose what color they what... also maybe you're thinking of the font color in the postbit? Also i've seen tons of requests for it anyways... so if it was made sorry ;)
g-force2k2 |
i know its made cause its on my forum.....
|
Yup. I have made this for my forum like on little line of code.
|
this isn't really a hack... a template change that has been done many times before...
|
riite, riite.....
|

Thankyou. So you can use anything like shadow for example.
|
Example/Screenshot please!
|
Here is one with the option in the user cp profile
|
Here is an example of it in a topic
|
One word!
Super Thanks to both of you. |
What color for the glow and font did you use the get that effect on this picture (in post #20)? And what font did you use? I like where the letters show through the glow so well.

That person used Black for his font and Aqua for his glow color. He didn't use Hexes for it.
|
yes how do you change the default?
can you turn off the glow if no glow color is specified by the user? |
Hey this is cool, great job!
|
Just a quick question...
Why the Hex code? Why not just a simple "blue" or "red" command, like with the "Display custom titles AND standard titles in posts" hack? Satan |
I would like that every usergroup had is own color.
How I can do? |
I install this hack, but it woint chance the color right...
|
Is there a way, that Users can decide between glowing an no glowing??
|
Few questions:
1. How do I modify my Forum Display Templates to show colored names in the "Started by" and "last post by" fields? 2. Is there a way to set a defaul glow color in the field? I was thinking of making it so that regular posters only get too choose a color, and Mods could get a Glow if they wanted. Thanks for the help. |

But it would be cool if you just could click it of. George |
gforce2001 don't sweat it man. You worked hard on this hack, even if it was already done. Some people just forget that all of us aren't elite vbulletin hackers and they jump at the chance to make others look bad. Good job on the hack bro. ;)

Agree'd! I want this to be an ADMIN only option. I don't want my users changing their own colors. Any tips? |
You can set the option for user's to select to no, and have Admins put it in in the cp. and then just change the glow colors for the members to the same color as the bg color so they won't glow. Until someone hacks a better way that's all I can say.

You can use the regular color names as well ;) g-force2k2 |
Invalid SQL: UPDATE userfield SET userid=1,field1='Male',field2='United States',field3='Computers',field4='Information Technology',field5='#000000',field6='#0000FF' WHERE userid=1
mysql error: Unknown column 'field5' in 'field list' |
Try running this query? maybe it'll fix the prob?
ALTER TABLE userfield ADD field5 varchar(250) NOT NULL DEFAULT '#000000' see if that works... g-force2k2 |

For the Username Text color=""> is replaced by color="{usernametextcolor}"> For the Username Glow filter:GLOW(color=,strength=4) is replaced by filter:GLOW(color={usernameglowcolor},strength=4) Change {usernametextcolor} and {usernameglowcolor} to whatever you like. Simple as that. Tested on my own boards, and works a treat. Top addon, BTW. My members love it :D |
